Flavors.

Aroma.

There is delicious Hungarian and Italian wrestling on the menu.

Zsuzsa vs Michela at a live Budapest event.

The legendary Zsuzsa of DWW fame needs little introduction. If you have been following fully competitive female submission wrestling, you know Zsuzsa boasts a resume that spans decades. She is a solid wrestler and though her petite size brings her challenges against the larger and elite wrestlers, against mid-level wrestlers, Zsuzsa is exceptional.

Michela appears to be new to Antscha’s events, but she is not new to submission wrestling. In fact, if you look at her profile at Italian Female Wrestling, she has a whopping 41 victories against 21 loses and 9 ties. By any measure, that is impressive.

So, here today, we have two very experienced warriors, from different realms about to do battle.

It’s time to go ringside.

ZSUZSA VS MICHELA

The two beauties stand, listening to Antscha’s instructions. As usual, in a Zsuzsa match, just like a DWW match, MMA holds including chokes, arm bars and joint locks are out. Other wrestling submission holds are in.

They begin on their knees.

The quest for the upper headlock is on and Zsuzsa very quickly captures it and takes Michela down. The two tumble around in struggle and find themselves battling up against the wall. Zsuzsa falls on top of Michela with the headlock but it is hard to secure with a veteran like Michela. They struggle more and soon Michela scrambles and gains the top position over Zsuzsa.

Michela now begins to take control from behind and above and from the standing position, bent over, she attempts a head scissor on Zsuzsa that doesn’t work but she still has the DWW Alum from behind. The Hungarian star has been in this position many times before and uses her prowess to escape.

Impressive.

Now it is time for Zsuzsa to finally go on the offensive.

We’ve seen many wrestlers, often newer, who are constantly on defense, and then when they finally escape and get their opportunity, they don’t really know what to do with it.

Zsuzsa knows what to do with it.

She quickly captures Michela in a tight headlock, and more important, falls on top of the Italian beauty’s upper torso. Now the DWW legend begins to squeeze. Will she secure a submission?

We have to remember that Michela is no rookie. Over 70 wrestling matches is a lot.

She breaks Zsuzsa’s hold.

Then she springs up and captures the feminine Zsuzsa in a Guillotine Choke. Can she now get the submission herself?

Not yet.

She lets go of the choke and from the top tries a reverse head scissor and once again fails.

Zsuzsa escapes. But not far. Michela tries to transfer the hold into a side body scissor and Zsuzsa escapes again.

This time they both come back to the center to start over.

Once engaged they begin hand fighting. Extremely effective at this, from years of battle, Zsuzsa gets the best of this and takes Michela down with a tight headlock. The DWW star applies it effectively and Michela is having trouble with the hold and circles around to try and escape. Both girls are very determined. Michela starts to slowly get to her feet. Zsuzsa still has her bent over but Michela breaks the hold.

The audience applauds.

Once again, the experienced Italian star tries to traps Zsuzsa in a Guillotine Choke and the Hungarian princess is in obvious pain. Michela now has Zsuzsa in serious trouble with a lowered down Guillotine Choke now married to a body scissor. Then there is a reminder.

Antscha commands “No choking”.

Michela lets go of the choke and Zsuzsa has a reprieve.

We really love Zsuzsa and all of the DWW girls but this is the problem we have in watching their modern day matches. They made the decision not to heavily learn martial arts, especially Jiu-Jitsu. Then they request matches, like this one, where MMA holds are not allowed. In some ways we feel that is not fair. Michela appears ready to submit Zsuzsa but now her hands are tied because she can’t use her full arsenal. It is one thing if those MMA holds actually hurt people but it is another if the former DWW alums appear to have made a decision not to heavily train that way.

We have watched super sexy Eva N. make a comeback, but her comeback is mostly filled with losses because she didn’t heavily train in MMA. In fact, we could have missed it, but we have yet to see Eva N. actually win a match on her comeback tour.

Back to the match.

Michela tries to keep the scissors but without that powerful Guillotine Choke, Zsuzsa easily escapes.

They begin hand fighting from their knees. Once again Zsuzsa is first to get the headlock. She maneuvers Michela to where she can sit upon her chest. Then she rolls the Italian princess into a side head scissor. Once again, Michela begins to stand and as she comes back down to the mats, she traps Zsuzsa in a mutual elongated body scissor. Zsuzsa soon loses her scissor but is crafty in escaping Michela’s scissor.

The audience applauds.

The two warriors begin with hand fighting. Once more, Zsuzsa wins the upper battle and takes Michela down with a head lock. The DWW alum makes her way to the top of a bent over Michela and takes a play from Michela’s playbook and attempts a standing head scissor. Michela resists and does an acrobatic flip and escapes.

The audience applauds.

Michela traps Zsuzsa in a headlock but she captures it from the bottom. As we’ve seen in this match, Zsuzsa is very effective in capturing head locks and she captures one from above and very cleverly and quietly rolls Michela into a side body scissor. Michela is trapped. Zsuzsa squeezes hard and the Italian veteran has no choice but to tap out.

Finally.

1-0 for Zsuzsa (7:50).

They begin again from their knees.

The hand fighting is slow and deliberate. Michela is still very much in this match. Perhaps she needs to change things up. She does, in an unexpected way by standing up and slowly pushing Zsuzsa into the corner. Great strategy except there is no standing up.

Antscha explains, “No stand up”.

No problem.

Michela immediately circles around and captures Zsuzsa from behind, tries to roll her into a submission but Zsuzsa escapes the hold.

On their knees they begin hand fighting. Zsuzsa is quick to capture a headlock with her right arm and take Michela down. They scramble around with Zsuzsa trying to secure the top position. Michela escapes and the audience applauds. The joy is short lived as the DWW alum flashes across the Italian star with a cross body pin. She circles around over Michela and settles on a traditional smother. Closer. Tighter. Michela is in trouble but doesn’t tap put. Zsuzsa lets up for a second but goes after the smother again. She tightens the grip once more. A hold she perfected at DWW. Michela pushes back. Zsuzsa switches her to an upper smother and scissor as Michela’s face is turned into Zsuzsa’s body. Michela gets to her knees and breaks the hold.

The audience applauds.

Zsuzsa keeps Michela in a floor to sitting body scissor. Michela, bent over, stands. Zsuzsa is trying to maintain that hold. The Hungarian legend slides Michela into a side body scissor and captures her head. Zsuzsa squeezes. Squeezes more. Michela grimacing taps out.

Time runs out.

The match is over.

A solid 2-0 victory by Zsuzsa against a long established veteran from another realm.
