July 20, 2022,

In terms of fully competitive female submission wrestling, Europe is the region to watch.

Again and again.

We had an overwhelming response to our initial European Female Submission Wrestling Series and based upon that, we feel we have another match worthy of a review.

Here we have Bianca from Italy facing Iron Phoenix of Germany.

FCI Women’s Wrestling, who has a broad inventory of female submission wrestling matches, has previously reviewed both grapplers and had high praise and misgivings about both.

Italy’s Bianca, 2021 Competitive Wrestling, Session Girl …

The praise is that both Bianca and Iron Phoenix are talented and highly skills wrestlers.

The concern with Bianca is that she can switch on a dime and become too chatty during the match and it loses its power and drains down to a sparring session. When Bianca wants to wrestle hard, she can.

Iron Phoenix is a strong talent as well. We have seen her wrestling at serious sites and give her best but we’ve also seen a puzzler when she wrestled Germany’s Rage and her efforts were uneven to say the least.

Had this match took place at Antscha’s studio in front of a live audience in Hungary, we would have no concerns because Antscha will tell the wrestlers in a hot minute to stop talking and wrestle.

We love that.

Here, this match takes place at Pippa’s Submission Wrestling Room. There is a red flag.

It is not an event match, which in our experience rarely has the intensity of a battle in front of the public.

The positive aspect is that it is not a company fight as neither wrestler is in Pippa’s camp.

Okay, time to review the match.

IRON PHOENIX VS BIANCA

Studio settings are important and Pippa has them stationed in a red padded room with first class blue mats. This is a perfect venue to help reduce injuries.

The two strong women begin by introducing themselves in muscular pose.

In viewing both warrior’s bodies, Iron Phoenix appears more muscular and stronger but we are well aware that Bianca has far more matches under her belt and is higher skilled.

Time to see which asset is more effective here.

They begin with upper body hand fighting to establish dominance.

Bianca wins that contest.

With her swift agility, while she has Iron Phoenix underneath her, she begins to maneuver around to achieve the position that she desires.

Bianca begins with the initiation of a cross body pin and Iron uses her beautiful strong legs to try and kick out.

To no avail.

Bianca quickly flips over and establishes herself in a grapevine and smother position to obtain a submission. This is tenuous as Iron’s legs are extremely strong and she breaks the hold but the fit Italian beauty remains on top.

Bianca clearly has a Plan B and swiftly rolls Iron into a side body scissors and SQUEEZES.

Iron quickly taps out.

1-0 for Bianca. (2:23)

Engagement, round two.

Bianca begins to exert a new plan which is to keep Iron trapped in a floor to sitting body scissors until she submits. Iron is aware of that but can’t seem to break the hold. The two slowly spin around the mats with Bianca continuing to apply the pressure.

Early on, one thing that is becoming clear is that Iron has no real offensive plan, or if she does, at this point, she is unable to execute it.

Bianca, ever agile, uses her athletic legs to attempt a triangle choke.

Iron escapes that but she can’t escape that sitting body scissors that Bianca won’t let go of.

More hand fighting. Iron pushes and puts pressure on Bianca’s stomach, seemingly a good move but the only problem with it is that she moves her head forward to push down and Bianca immediately takes advantage, pulls Iron’s head downward and cranks on those scissors and the muscle girl must tap out.

2-0 for Bianca (4:14).

As round three evolves, it becomes clear he Iron is determined to make a play for a submission. Her challenge is, compared to swift and agile Bianca, her progression is slow and Bianca is using her athletic legs to block any side mounts.

This time Iron is persistent and does secure a fierce headlock. She must hold on to it but she doesn’t. Instead she let’s go of the headlock and decides to mount Bianca. That’s another strategy but will it yield a submission?

Bianca hooks her arms to prevent any smother attempt as she bucks like a bronco to kick Iron off.

Iron patiently keeps trying for the smother, until she doesn’t.

She now rolls Bianca into a potential side body scissors, then a sitting one.

No submission yet. Bianca is indeed a good defensive player.

The floor to sitting body scissors is attempted over and over by Iron, to no avail.

Bianca breaks the hold and that initial golden headlock by Iron is for not. (8:06)

Time to regroup as a massive opportunity for Iron was lost. Can she recover or is Bianca ready to run away with this?

The two warriors jockey around for position and engage in upper hand fighting for a lengthy period.

For a time, neither really gains an advantage until Bianca does and if past experience means anything, she will seal the deal.

She is now sitting on top of Iron who has gone into defensive mode as she lays on her back. The Italian star seemingly has all of the time in the world to figure out what to do.

She does.

Bianca goes for a lower leg and ankle head scissors.

Iron is strong enough to break away.

Bianca is relentless. She soon encases Iron in an upper body clutch, close to being a head scissors. Unlike Iron, we are certain, now that Bianca has this advantage?

She will close the deal.

And does.

As she weighs down upon Iron, the athletic German girl gives up.

3-0 for Bianca (11:34).

The next round begins.

Instead of the usual hand fighting, Bianca immediately falls to the floor and attempts to trap Iron in a floor to sitting body scissors. In a good move, Iron uses her strong leg to side block that attempt and then encased Bianca in a strong upper body hold and lies on top of the raven haired beauty.

Great position for Iron.

The question is, what is she going to do with it?

She loses it.

Again.

That was probably her last real chance to stay in the match.

Now the competition becomes more uneven with continual stops. Bianca even apologizes for her cold feet on Iron’s body.

That’s a first.

The girls continue to wrestle and break each other’s holds. With the match no longer in doubt, the intensity level has dropped a bit.

Especially for Iron.

FCI Women’s Wrestling has an article in their vault focusing on Iron’s match against Germany’s Rage and in that competition, Iron essentially tires and fades at the end as she appears to be doing here.

While she has the strength, she appears to be lacking in stamina.

Bianca seizes upon that, tightens a headlock on Iron; pushes her into the corner for leverage and Iron gives.

4-0 for Bianca.

The final minute is much of a formality but duty calls.

Bianca applies the floor body scissors, Iron applies a headlock.

Which hold do you feel will win out?

It is not a hard guess.

Bianca’s scissors wins out as Iron taps and the match is over, 5-0 in Bianca’s favor.

We appreciate that Bianca brought her A game, especially during the early stages of this International fight.

Another fantastic match from Pippa’s Submission Room. Log it into the history books.
