Spoiler Alert – Match Scores Revealed

June 18, 2023,

As fans, we are only human.

Sometimes, when two beautiful female warriors face one another on the fully competitive grappling mats, we have a sense of who is going to win and by how much. In all fairness, most of the time we are right.

But then again, sometimes we are wrong.

The following are descriptions of matches where we were completely surprised by the results.

MARA VS XENA – INTERNATIONAL MATCH

Matches of intensity should always be revisited.

They have a propensity to remind us why we love fully competitive female wrestling and remember the talented women who participated and made that so.

When Xena of England met Mara of Hungary in June of 2013, at one of the Great Femwrestle Events in Troisdorf, Germany, given that both women typically display mild mannered personalities, it was a little surprising how this joust turned out to be so intense.

And angry.

We have covered these two beauties before and are well aware of their strengths and challenges. This should be an intriguing matchup because Mara is from Hungary’s formidable stable of wrestlers and Xena has wrestled with Honey’s team in England.

What surprised us in this match was how the smaller Mara methodically wore the more experienced muscular Xena down. It was a sight to see.

INFERNO VS VOX

As they engage standing, Inferno is painting her masterpiece.

Inferno’s fluid movements are like those of a ballerina or smooth professional dancer.

She continues to allow Vox to dictate the action, who appears to have no real plan, and the Porcelain Princess just keeps reacting to it, until she gets her opening.

Until Vox makes another mistake.

Which she does again and Inferno pounces on it and takes the exotic brunette down with a brutal headlock and once again is on top of her.

They are locked in another struggle with Inferno on top. The British star is applying another arm and wrist lock, bending Vox’s arm backward. The pain is too much and Vox taps out.

This is why you play the games. At the beginning of this match, who would have thought?

They fight again standing up.

Inferno is patient. Vox is not and, given how things have been going, that is a good thing. Change this up.

Vox takes Inferno down with a headlock.

The two struggle around on the mat floor and even though Vox is on top, it becomes clear she has no real submission hold plan.

Inferno fills the void.

As they lay on the mats, elongated but heads pointed in different directions, Inferno goes for a brutal leg lock. Vox is in pain and Inferno continues to apply the pressure. Vox manages to break the hold but in the process, very cat like, Inferno is immediately behind her applying a mid-waist body scissor and choke.

This was one of Inferno’s best results. It wasn’t that she won, we actually expected that, sort. We love Inferno, have seen her wrestle over the years but, in our analysis, her performances have been uneven.

Not this one.

It was her masterpiece.

KARINE VS JENNY – BERLIN EXPO

Karine is warming up using her arms like air plane wings as the referee announces this will be a catfight with slapping and kicking allowed but mercifully no hair pulling.

Karine is gorgeous as always in red shorts and a light aqua rainbow top. Jenny looks super sexy with her tanned body graced in black fitness shorts and a sports bra.

The two girls shake hands.

Karine is the initial aggressor with a slap to Jenny’s face that has the crowd oohing and awing then she supplements it with a kick. Jenny aggressively responds slapping at Karine and literally runs the German off of the mats.

Karine takes her time adjusting her hair before she comes back to the center.

The German goes on the attack and changes tactics by encasing Jenny in a headlock and taking her down but does not secure the position as Jenny rolls her over and is on top, slapping away at Karine’s face.

Now in a position of weakness, Karine is strictly on the defensive. Jenny continues to roll her maintaining the top position until she perfectly positions Karine for a smother, does so and Karine taps out.

Karine rubs her nose and during a brief break grabs a large bottle of water for a drink.

The battle begins again with Karine landing a kick and Jenny landing one back as she takes Karine down to the light green mats. Both girls are trying to gain the position of strength using their legs and Jenny achieves success.

Once again Karine is on the defensive.

As the two athletic beauties struggle, they grapple to the edge of the mats and the match is temporarily halted while they get up and walk back to the center.

Time to engage.

Karine checks her forearm nursing an apparent scratch as the battle scars begin to mount. She prances around like a boxer, initiates a kick but once again Jenny is the aggressor and takes Karine down.

She is on top about to apply what appears to be a rear naked choke but is warned by the referee not to do so.

Karine is at her mercy.

At this point it appears that Jenny is just too strong for Karine and is maneuvering the blonde into a body scissors and tightly squeezes forcing Karine to painfully tap out.

The two warriors stand and begin to eye one another. Karine surprises Jenny with a very loud slap. Jenny angrily moves forward slapping at Karine who turns her back. That won’t slow down Jenny who violently slaps at the back of Karine’s head and runs her off of the mats.

Karine appears to be upset about getting pounded in the back of the head but her complaint appears to fall upon deaf ears.

A pattern is now starting to emerge. Karine initiates the action with a powerful kick or slap and Jenny angrily retaliates with more force.

This happens again.

For so time the girls are standing tightly holding one another in a neck hug that resembles a bear hug. Karine trips Jenny and takes her down yet once again Jenny is the stronger of the two and gains the upper hand in the ground war.

She traps Karine in a body scissors forcing the German to audibly groan in pain. Determined, Jenny is not letting go. They roll around but Jenny never let’s go of the body scissors and Karine taps out in pain.

Interestingly during the break, the two acknowledge each other so there doesn’t seem to be any animosity.

Surprisingly though Karine is down 3-0. Who would have thought? Is this now going to turn into a blowout?

Viewing the next round, maybe.

Jenny takes it to Karine again and grabs her by the neck and down Karine goes. Karine is developing a habit of turning her back after striking a blow which those of us in the female submission wrestling industry know is a big mistake.

Don’t turn your back.

Karine does and now Jenny is on top of her again trying to secure a body scissors. She has Karine seized by the neck and is ominously close to apply a choke hold which is not allowed. Karine is in trouble again and is not save by the bell, but by the bra as her strap comes undone and the ref stops the match due to as he would say, technical difficulties.

Karine smiles and re-ties her bra.

The two then go at each other again with some vicious kicks and slaps and yet again Karine keeps turning her back and Jenny keeps taking advantage of that unwise posturing.

The two simultaneously trade headlocks and take each other down. The girls jockey for position and then something strange happens.

Jenny breaks the action because she has become dizzy.

There is a moment of rest and the two stand to engage again.

The brutal slaps and kicks begin again but the battle doesn’t last long as the two girls pause again. Jenny is not well so the fight must be stopped.

The referee acknowledges to the crowd that admittedly catfights are tougher and even though Jenny is leading 3-1, we suppose with the ending submission is Jenny’s concession because we didn’t see Karine previously submit her, the ref concludes the match is a draw.

The two girls both have their hands raised and in a rarity in Karine’s intense matches, they actually hug at the end.

SUMMARY

These are three matches where things didn’t go as expected.

Even if we picked the winner, we were absolutely shocked by what happened along the way.

Isn’t it the journey in life?

And as we know, along that journey pathway, things don’t always go as expected.
