ITALIAN FEMALE SUBMISSION WRESTLERS REV UP THEIR ENGINES

It is always nice to see beautiful girls fighting outside of their pond.

The gorgeous gladiators, primarily at Italian Female Wrestling, step outside of their comfort zone and wrestle at THE ZONE.

Female Wrestling Zone that is (mature themes).

Female Wrestling Zone (FWZ) is one of the most competitive environments in the known female submission wrestling world, so when statuesque Samantha and journey fighter Michela, decided to take on a girl new to us, in muscle girl Beatrice, it really got our attention.

We have seen both Samantha and Michela wrestle in Hungary with Antscha’s group and mostly they were defeated. Samantha even appeared to get used to that.

Here, against possibly a newer girl, Samantha has a chance to get a long awaited victory. As we suspected, she gave her best effort.

But will she win?

Both matches were hotly contested. We loved them and we sense you will love them too.

INTENSELY CONTESTED – CURIE VS LEXI

Speaking of Antscha’s group, here is another of a zillion matches in Antscha’s store that you have to watch from beginning to end.

We must admit, before purchasing this match, we had strong thoughts on who was going to win (won’t say here) but this barn burner surprised us.

Everything you thought you knew about Lexi Max and Curie will sit you down in your chair here. You will not find out the winner until this gem is over.

KEEP UP WITH PROFESSIONAL FEMALE TENNIS

Ever since the legendary, two generational talent Serena Williams retired and Naomi Osaki went off to start a family, a huge question was, would professional female tennis still be intense, interesting and relevant, especially since the new stars were often girls that arguably, many don’t know much about.

Coco Gauff filled that void to some degree, being an American super star, and Jessica Pegula (a once mind bending, head scratching number three in the world, huh?) had great opportunities and expectations yet to be fulfilled, like making it to a Grand Slam semi-final, for once, there is still is a lot to be desired.

Aren’t there four players in the semi-finals at Grand Slams? Four times a year? So shouldn’t a world number three be in there at least once?

The world loves American super stars and right now, Coco (with the legendary Zen Master Brad Gilbert as a coach) and Jessica are it.

We keep hoping and watching. We wish it were not true but the yelling (at the top of her lungs)  screaming and foot stomping USA’s Danielle Collins announced she was retiring at the end of the year.

We sure hope not.

Talk about intense. And yes, she made it past the semis and reached a Grand Slam final.

So for now, there are some rising stars from Europe who are making a name for themselves and while we will never ask you to pronounce either of their names five times in a row while eating popcorn, you should at least know who they are.

Our associates at FCI Elite Competitor (fcielitecompetitor.com) wrote one thousand word articles about both of these dynamic young women and if you truly are a tennis fan, they should be a good read.

HISTORY IS BEING MADE

Female MMA wrestlers and fighters are growing in visibility in Saudi Arabia. Thus, in a once very restrictive society, there are increasing opportunities.

In January of 2024, Hattan Alsaif made history as the first Saudi woman to join a global MMA promotion.

As reported by the global news source CNN, “Professional Fighters League (PFL) has penned a deal with Saudi Arabian-born fighter Hattan Alsaif, making her the first female athlete from the country to sign with a major global MMA promotion, officials told ESPN on Monday.”

This unique signing is making news around the world.

The team at aljazeera.com adds, “Alsaif, 22, won gold at the 2023 International Federation of Muaythai Associations World Championships, where she was awarded Breakthrough Female Athlete. Last year she also took first place at the World Combat Games and the Saudi Games.”

The PFL has upgraded its roster to include the top female fighters from Bellator as well so Hattan will have her work cut out for her.

Great to see. We will keep you updated.

ANOTHER WOMEN’S WRESTLING FIRST

Marina Shafir is a Moldovan-born American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). She formerly competed for Invicta Fighting Championships in the women’s featherweight division. Shafir is arguably best known for her time in WWE, where she was the first and to date only Moldovan to ever compete for that promotion.

Moldavia is a historical region and former principality in Central and Eastern Europe, corresponding to the territory between the Eastern Carpathians and the Dniester River.

An initially independent and later autonomous state, it existed from the 14th century to 1859, when it united with Wallachia as the basis of the modern Romanian state.

The western half of Moldavia is now part of Romania, the eastern side belongs to the Republic of Moldova, and the northern and southeastern parts are territories of Ukraine.

The world is becoming a much smaller and closely knit place.

Women’s wrestling continues to expand and make historic news around the world. When news happens in that world, we will try and bring it to you.

We appreciate you as readers. We’ll see you again on April 1, 2024.
