International Fight, Hungary’s Kim Vs Belgium’s Xena, Heavy Restrictions Rule
Spoiler Alert – Ending Match Score Revealed
July 24, 2023,
Typically, in a match like this, all eyes, and in all fairness, all scrutiny and criticism, is on Hungary’s wunderkind Kim.
We have done more match reviews on Kim than most other female submission wrestlers in the entire world.
She can be a fascination.
Always.
Not only because of her wrestling but also for her quiet “hard to read” personality.
She virtually never gets angry. Even when she should (hint: Julie Silvie).
She’s rarely passionate. Very hard working but also very workman like. Toiling her trade.
Just the facts Jack.
Mostly, that approach works well, unless you are trying to become one of the elite wrestlers in the world.
Then you need passion.
Sometimes even a little bit of controlled anger.
We say that because Kim is facing a newer beauty in Belgium’s gorgeous and internally tough, Xena.
In her inaugural match against Czech Republic’s Ginger, Xena completely frustrated and demolished her.
Does she stand a chance with the extensively experienced Kim?
We say yes.
Xena has far less experience.
Xena is on Kim’s home turf.
Is there is a but coming? Of course there is.
Xena has far more intensity and passion.
And today’s rules are bunky funky.
Headlocks and pin count to ten, only.
Now that is bunky funky.
Even in the old DWW days, though they were not skilled in MMA, they could at least use body scissors and painful chin locks.
Smothers too.
So, the rules work to Xena’s favor and we sense allowances for the difference in experience played a part in that.
Based upon that, we are picking Xena to win.
KIM VS XENA
As Kim and Xena stand there listening to Antscha, with their hands on their hips, their fearless leader makes it clear there are only headlocks and body pins to a ten count. Then Antscha asks if they understand the rules.
Hey, there are only two rules, so both Kim and Xena should pass this pop quiz.
The beauties go down to their knees.
Time to wrestle.
They begin with hand fighting, trying to achieve the stronger upper neck position. They struggle. Finally Xena breaks through as she reaches behind Kim’s neck and brings her down to the mats. Xena is on top of the Hungarian brunette, locking Kim’s head and neck inside of a Triangle Headlock. Antscha reminds the Belgian rising star, no chokes or smothers.
Understood.
Kim asserts herself and rolls Xena over, and though still trapped in the Triangle Headlock, at least she is now on top.
They struggle. Xena tries to lock in Kim’s right leg, to prevent a full mount. Kim soon breaks the hold completely. They tangle as Kim tries to jockey for position. They roll around as Kim is slowly in control and then she is not. She manages to press Xena up against the wall for an advantage.
More struggle.
From the floor, Kim is now trying to control Xena with a scissor as Xena tangles up Kim’s wrist. Thus far, with the limitation of the rules, this is a stalemate.
And the stalemate continues.
There is a continual arm control fight as Kim keeps her legs tightly scissored around Xena’s wait. While she will not be submitted with that hold, it clearly seems to be tiring the Belgium Princess out. Her heavy exhaustive breathing is an indicator of that.
With the limitations of the rules, the two girls are fighting fiercely to reach an end game that will be hard to attain.
Xena finally appears to make some headway.
She clasps her hands behind Kim’s neck, who is struggling on her back, and fiercely pulls Kim’s head upward. The Hungarian star is in anguish and her leg scissor hold around Xena’s waist is broken. The Belgium starlit is pressuring Kim from the top and Antscha warns, “No smother”.
No problem.
Xena slides it into a side headlock and continues to crunch and apply the pressure to Kim’s head. Xena is relentless. Because she is attacking from the side, and not directly from above, to avoid the smother, she is now forcing the pin issue and Antscha begins the pin count. It gets to eight before Kim kicks out.
Xena is not through.
She begins to apply the pressure again. Kim is covered and trying to kick out. Antscha begins the pin count again and the second time is a charm. Kim is counted out at ten. Finally.
1-0 for Xena (6:30).
ROUND TWO
The two beauties fix their hair. Xena is winded but it was worth it. She obtained an extremely hard submission.
Action.
Kim immediately lunges towards Xena and traps her in a headlock. The audience applauds. Looks like a fierce headlock. Xena then does something unexpected and uses both of her hands to push underneath Kim’s chin and forcefully pushes Kim backwards and off of her. The audience gasps with surprise.
Xena is now back on top.
Once again, Kim scissors the waist from below and Xena pressures the head from above.
A temporary stalemate.
Still, Xena has the upper hand. You can pin count from above, but no scissors are allowed.
They struggle and struggle and, once again, appear to have reached a stalemate. The breathing is heavy and the pressure from Xena is relentless. How long will this battle of attrition last?
The clock is winding down.
It is very hard to get a body pin without having it nullified as a smother so, on purpose or not, Xena is now running down the clock and has Kim’s head in a Triangle Lock and is not letting go. Kim is in trouble.
First she needs to escape.
Then she needs to go on the offensive.
Best wishes on that.
Kim is fighting back hard but Xena is not giving up the top position. For good reason. The rising star makes her move, breaks Kim’s scissors and jumps up Kim’s torso for a full mount. Xena has to be a tactician and not smother but keep Kim’s shoulder’s down.
She does exactly that and Antscha counts Kim out at ten.
The match is over.
Despite the extreme match rule limitations, this was a great battle of intestinal fortitude. We are not surprised that Xena won. We love Kim greatly and along with Dolly have more match reviews about the two of them than any other wrestlers. We could say this about both of them but today we are going to focus on Kim only.
She falters under the bright lights.
On the big stage.
Even though this match only allowed headlocks and pins, who has far more experience in that area? Xena or Kim? It was Xena’s determination that defeated Kim today. Completely. Not her skill level. As far as we know, she has less than five matches under her belt. Kim, easily over thirty.
It was intense. Give it that. In terms of determination, a very important life lesson.
Great match to both. We appreciate it.
