October 17, 2024,

Look, we get it.

As a fully competitive female submission wrestler, you are virtually always told to rev things up. Go walking, running and working out at the gym.

Vroom, vroom.

You most likely have been told to get more Jiu-Jitsu and MMA training, which is a great idea. Perhaps though, it might be good to take a minute to take a break and rest not just a moment, but some moments, to ease your mind.

There is good reason for it. Right now. Today.

The majority of great female submission wrestling occurs in Europe. Look at the temperature of stress going on in Europe right now.

As reported by mediarelations.gwu.edu, they share, “War in Ukraine Has Caused More Mental Stress to Europeans than the COVID-19 Lockdown in 2020.”

Makes sense. With war at your doorstep, it can be unbelievably stressful.

You can change the world, right? The Internet sure did. What we are saying here is that sometimes you need to temporarily escape the world. What can help a female athlete do that?

Meditation.

It is okay. Go ahead and say it out loud. As a competitive female wrestler and most likely competitive person away from the mats, you are allowed to take a break.

Meditation is a practice in which an individual uses a technique to train attention and awareness and detach from reflexive, “discursive thinking,” achieving a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state, while not judging the meditation process itself.

Meditation may significantly reduce stress, fear, anxiety, depression, and pain, and enhance peace, perception, self-concept, and well-being.

Boy, do we all need that.

The great minds at webmd.com add, “Meditation can improve your concentration, attention to detail, and focus, allowing you to juggle it all without dropping the ball. Regular meditation can increase serotonin production, which improves your mood and helps with anxiety and depression.”

Well-stated.

You can be inspired by a beautiful famous woman who practices meditation.

Megan Fox is an American actress who made her acting debut in the family film Holiday in the Sun (2001), which was followed by numerous supporting roles in film and television, such as the teen musical comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), as well as a starring role in the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith (2004–2006). Her breakout role was as Mikaela Banes in the blockbuster action film Transformers (2007), which she reprised in its sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Very impressive.

And important to you, research indicates she loves to meditate. With that schedule, it is very understandable.

The relaxing group at aboutmeditation.com enlightens, “Megan says she uses meditation to stay focused, avoids dairy and tries to eat raw and vegan foods whenever possible.”

Good to know.

There’s more.

Described as a sex symbol, Ms. Fox has made appearances in numerous magazines such as Maxim, Rolling Stone, and FHM. She has received two Scream Awards and four Teen Choice Awards.

Online research indicted Megan said all women in Hollywood are known and marketed as sex symbols, but that this is okay if the woman knows how to utilize the status.

Female submission wrestlers, you already know this, you are a sex symbol too. Believe it.

Allow yourself the time to meditate. Right now, it is a very stressful world. We all know this. It is so hard to live a normal life in abnormal times.

So, take a minute, to meditate.

It will be great for your peace of mind.

We’ve spoken about Europe, let’s turn our attention to the next largest group of fully competitive female submission wrestlers. They reside in America. Right now, the United States in undergoing a very stressful election. If you are stressed, there is a group who promises to help.

Hugh Jackman, Surgeon General Dr. Murthy, Dr. Tony Nader, Maria Shriver, and Bob Roth will kick off campaign with benefit gala on September 12th in NYC

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The David Lynch Foundation’s Institute for Mental Health and Resilience is launching MEDITATE AMERICA, a public awareness campaign to promote meditation for stress reduction. The campaign aims to combat America’s stress epidemic – according to a 2024 study commissioned by the American Psychological Association, nearly 50% of American adults report feeling more stressed than ever.

MEDITATE AMERICA will be inaugurated during a benefit gala on September 12th co-hosted by the charismatic Hugh Jackman and Bob Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation. This sold-out event will be held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, with special guests including global Transcendental Meditation expert, Dr. Tony Nader, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy and international women’s health activist Maria Shriver. The event will be live-streamed worldwide, marking the start of a global effort to promote collective healing and mental well-being through evidence-based meditation.

“The campaign is about educating people about the very real hazards of stress and benefits of meditation, and encouraging people to take action, learn meditate techniques, and protect yourself against the toxic onslaught of stress,” says Bob Roth. “Most Americans are feeling anxious – especially over the economy, gun violence, and the upcoming 2024 election. It’s more important than ever to find ways to mitigate the stress around these issues.”

Transcendental Meditation is a simple, easily-learned technique that has been shown to reduce stress and improve mental well-being. Over 10 million people worldwide have learned TM, and over 400 peer-reviewed studies have verified its physiological and psychological benefits.

MEDITATE AMERICA will launch in more than 100 cities nationwide on September 12th and run through November 15th, with the goal of encouraging more people to meditate to address the pandemic of toxic stress, especially during a volatile election cycle. During the campaign, TM centers will offer free sessions, discounted courses and scholarships to help people who require financial assistance to learn to meditate.
