April 23, 2023,

A stroll through the urban landscape of historic Germany allows you to walk parallel to the past while you are seduced by the present.

Any trip to Germany, in the present, should include a life affirming memory making session.

Along with that session, you might want to visit a traditional German Beer Garden.

Make a day of it. We’re going to make a suggestion, a little off the beaten path.

Ready? Glad you made it to Germany. Shall we eat breakfast?

After you.

Breakfast or Fruhstuck, commonly consists of bread, toast, or bread rolls with butter or margarine, cold cuts, cheeses, jam Konfitüre or more commonly known in America as called Marmalade along with honey and typically boiled eggs.

Well, what shall we drink?

Common beverages with a German breakfast are coffee, tea, milk, hot or cold cocoa and possibly a tangy fruit juice.

We respect vegan but now we are in Germany. We’ll go off our grain and vegetables diet for the day.

It is very common to eat hearty toppings at breakfast, including deli meats like ham, salted meats, salami and meat-based spreads such as Leberwurst known in the USA as liver sausage.

That was good.

We’re going to wait for about an hour or two, let our breakfast settle and then wash it all down with a deep rich German beer.

Thanks for your patience.

Time to go to a German Beer Garden.

A beer garden is an outdoor area in which beer and food are served, typically at shared tables shaded by trees.

Beer gardens originated in Bavaria, of which Munich is the capital city, in the 19th century, and remain common in Southern Germany. They are usually attached to a brewery, beer hall, pub, or restaurant.

What we love about the German Beer Garden experience is the relaxed outdoor atmosphere where patrons are allowed to bring a picnic style basket, filled with delicious food, sit and talk with friends, while they relax and have beer.

That was relaxing.

We’re going to walk back to our hotel room and sleep off our buzz. When we awake, we are going to the theater to watch a German movie. Let’s look through the catalog. Okay, there is one we like.

A little off the beaten path. Speaking of beer.

Paula Beer is a German actress who first became known as a teenager for her main role in Chris Kraus‘ 2010 film Poll. Her breakthrough was in 2016, when she starred in François Ozon‘s Frantz (2016), for which she won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for best young performer at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. She won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival for her performance as Undine Wibeau in Christian Petzold‘s Undine.

Undine. Sounds like a memorable movie choice.

Undine is a 2020 German-French romantic fantasy drama film directed by Christian Petzold. It had its world premiere on 23 February 2020 at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, where it was selected to compete for the Golden Bear in the competition section.

Let’s sit back. Here is the storyline.

Undine Wibeau, a historian who lectures on the urban development of Berlin, is broken up with by a married man with whom she is having an affair, Johannes.

She tells him that if he leaves her she will have to kill him, a reference to the myth of undine, and asks him to wait at a café for her while she delivers a lecture.

After the lecture, she returns to the café to find he has left. While looking for him, a man who attended her lecture, Christoph, introduces himself to her, telling her that he is an industrial diver and asking her to have a coffee. Christoph accidentally breaks the aquarium in the café and the two are ejected.

The two begin a long-distance relationship.

In the process, once our heroine finds out who she really is, she will have to make a very important life altering choice.

Very well done. Enjoyed that.

Now, without further delay, we are ready for our session.

Who will she be?

Typically we would visit some of the top stars like Madam Curie, Warrior Amazon or Rage, for good reason. Not only are they wonderful Session Women, they are incredible wrestlers as well.

This time however, we want to travel a little off the beaten path.

Drum roll please.

Her name is Madam Noir.

“I love doing sports because it strengthens my Body and my Soul. In the last few years I have been become a dedicated international Competitive Wrestler and I also gained my Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Since I started my passion for it has grown and grown. I Train Hard and Fight Easy.  I am surprisingly strong for my size and I can choke you in 15 different ways.”

Sounds like painful fun.

Her email is ladiescombat.madnoir@gmail.com

That was indeed painful fun.

Time for dinner.

Often saltwater fish, Alaska pollock is the most common.

Popular freshwater fish on the German menu are trout, pike, carp, and European perch also are listed frequently. Seafood traditionally was restricted to the northern coastal areas, except for pickled herring, which was often served in a Fischbrötchen, as a pickled herring fillet rolled into a cylindrical shape around a piece of pickled gherkin or onion.

That is one choice but let’s keep looking.

A long tradition of sausage-making exists in Germany. Get this, more than 1,500 different types of sausage are made.

Most Wurst is made with natural casings of pork, sheep or lamb intestines. Among the most popular and most common are Bratwurst, usually made of ground pork and spices, the Wiener (Viennese), which may be pork or beef and is smoked and fully cooked in a water bath, and Blutwurst (blood sausage) or Schwarzwurst (black sausage).

All of it sounds good. Delicious. We’ll figure it out.

It was a wonderful day in Germany.

Great food, a fun movie and a wonderful session.

This message has been stamped with beautiful Germanic Session approval.
