SAN FRANCISCO AND LONDON – GREAT FEMALE WRESTLING
If you grow up or spend a lot of time in the San Francisco Bay Area, many comparisons are made with the great city of London, especially during the foggiest time of year which is typically summer. They are both cosmopolitan cities with fantastic tourist attractions, delicious neighborhood cuisines and a vibrant night life.
Both cites also have great fully competitive female wrestling histories.
Through our associates at Grappling Stars (grapplingstars.com), FCI will continue to present you with match reviews that focus on the London present and both San Francisco and London’s great women’s submission wrestling past.
It was a very sad day when we received this email on December 31, 2014:
“Dear LWS Customers and Enquirers
Thank you for either booking sessions with London Wrestling Studio or enquiring about them in the past.
I have decided not to continue with London Wrestling Studio in 2015 so I can concentrate on university studies and my future career.
I anticipate that the majority of our wrestlers will continue with session wrestling. I am recommending to them all that they join my friend Pippa’s wrestling studio here. I cannot say whether they will choose to do so or not. http://www.thesubmissionroom.co.uk/”
That was from Honey before she retired.
Having said that, at Grappling Stars, we plan to continue to write ringside match reviews about some of the great London wrestling matches from the past featuring stars such as Mystique, Justice, Blaze, Laken, Luna, sexy muscle girl Xena, Thunder and others.
It is always important to remember and appreciate the past as we walk and enjoy the female wrestling present.
DANUBE’S EVA N. TEAM ONE – ENJOYING THE RETURN OF A LEGEND
Technically, we suppose, Eva N. of DWW lore, never really fully retired from competitive wrestling, she just went off of our main stream radar, so to speak.
Well, she is back and beautiful and sexy as ever.
We are currently members at Female Wrestling Zone and there are three incredibly sexy matches there featuring Eva vs Andy, Dolly and Kim Biceps.
Back in the day, when one of our associates was covering a female submission wrestling event, a lead producer spoke about how the DWW girls were great wrestlers when it came to scissors, school girl pins, smothers and cross body pins. But, he added, they could never fight above the neck.
Translation?
Except for the Black Sea Amazons (BSA), many never embraced MMA and found it hard to defend themselves against chokes, specifically rear naked ones.
Eva appears to have that challenge.
We decided to research her and while she has engaged in a large amount of cat fighting, that is absolutely not the same as ground level MMA female grappling.
Our beautiful girl has found that out the hard way as, we sense her frustration level at times, but it makes her matches super sexy to watch.
VIDEO OF THE MONTH – ZSUZSA VS SIREN
Antscha’s store continues to produce one great video after another. If you love great women’s wrestling at the highest level event in the world, you should continually scout Antscha’s store.
Here, we have another Danube legend in Zsuzsa taking on Ireland’s Siren Max, a newer wrestler trying to find her way and make her mark. Siren has previously taken on Nikki and Kim so this is a move towards a higher skilled wrestler. What we love about Siren’s matches is that she is very feisty and passionate. We think you will love her too.
SESSION IN PHILADELPHIA
There is so much to love about the great historic city of Philadelphia.
The world travelers at Lonely Planet share, “Blessed with the glamour and culture of a big city, ‘Philly’ as it’s affectionately known, also delights visitors with its rich history and small-town charm.”
We yearn for Philly for so many reasons. Important American history, fantastic sports town, incredible food and a wonderful female Session Star resides there.
FCI Women’s Wrestling Magazine already has the article written up and resting our library.
Look for it to be published this week.
If you have ever thought about traveling to Philadelphia, this legendary gorgeous Session Woman can help you decide, with an experience of a lifetime. We’ve met her personally, twice, and love everything about her.
Remember, it will publish this week.
NEW AEW WOMEN’S WRESTLING CHAMPION
There is huge news in the AEW.
As reported by bleacherreport.com, “In a clash between four of the top women’s wrestlers in AEW, Saraya beat Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker and Toni Storm to win the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In on Sunday.”
You may know her as Saraya or Paige.
Saraya is an English professional wrestler who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where she performs under her real name. She is the current AEW Women’s World Champion in her first reign. She is best known for her time with WWE under the ring name Paige.
She was a two-time (and the youngest) WWE Divas Champion and the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion.
She is the only woman to have won women’s world championships in both WWE and AEW, and to hold both a main roster and NXT Women’s Championship simultaneously in WWE.
Congrats are in order.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI IS BACK AND WINNING
A fan can love Caroline on the tennis courts and be mesmerized by viewing her many Sports Illustrated swimwear photo shoots.
She has to be one of the most beautiful women in tennis.
After taking about 3-1/2 years off and having two children, Caroline is making a comeback and, as of this writing, has won her first two matches at the mighty 2023 US Open, including a victory over the number eleven player in the world in Petra Kvitova.
Femcompetitor Magazine (femcompetitor.com) annually chronicles the two hard court Grand Slam tournaments of the year in the US Open, starting at the end of August and the Australian Open, beginning in January. Let’s remind ourselves of what Caroline has accomplished and why we are so glad to see her back.
Caroline is a Danish professional tennis player who was ranked world No. 1 in singles for a total of 71 weeks, including at the end of 2010 and 2011.
She achieved the top ranking for the first time on October 11, 2010, becoming the 20th player in the Open Era and the first from a Scandinavian country to hold the top position. In 2018, she became the first Dane to win a major singles title at the Australian Open.
Known for her footwork and defensive abilities, Ms. Wozniacki won 30 WTA Tour singles titles (including six in both 2010 and 2011, the most in a year by a WTA player from 2008–2011)
Welcome back Caroline.
RONDA ROUSEY COMEBACK TO OCTAGON?
Could this actually be possible?
As posted by thespun.com, “Legendary UFC star Ronda Rousey hasn’t been inside of the Octagon in a while, but it sounds like that could change soon.
According to a report, the longtime MMA star turned wrestler is eyeing a new move for her career. Rousey is reportedly eyeing a comeback fight at UFC 300 in early 2024. Sadie Whitelocks of DailyMail.com spoke with one of Rousey’s confidants.”
But then, we read this as well.
As posted by the informative inside MMA source mmafighting.com, “Don’t expect to see Ronda Rousey back for UFC 300 — or for any octagon comeback anytime soon.
That’s according to UFC president Dana White, who poured cold water over a recent report from British tabloid The Daily Mail which insisted that the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion is planning a comeback for the promotion’s tricentennial event.”
Look, generally where there is smoke, there is fire.
All of us should keep an eye on the progress of this news. Given Ronda’s outstanding and legendary MMA career, a comeback would be greatly welcomed. Agree?
Well, that is all for now.
We will see you again for some more exciting news on September 15, 2023.
In the meantime, take care.
