German Girls Historical Battles, Karine Vs Julia, Curie Vs Anett, Power Predictable

Fascinations with Germany are understandable.

The food is great, the beer amazing and the women, amazingly beautiful.

Having a session in Germany has to be an incredible lifetime experience. Unfortunately some of us may never make it there but we can live vicariously.

One of the greatest pastimes in our fully competitive women’s wrestling industry is to watch German women wrestle.

Some of their great matches have been forgotten or never known about.

As they say, in America, we walk on the walk. In Europe, they walk with the past.

Let’s pretend we are in Germany and walk with the women’s wrestling past. And present.

The time machine is waiting.

GERMANY’S LEGEND KARINE VS JULIA

Interest levels rise when Fem Competitors face off from different clubs.

It certainly is preferable to the more tame company fights where the girls know one another and there is an established pecking order. As a customer, before the match even begins, most of the time you already know who is going to win with very few surprises.

Thus. when one of our favorites in Germany’s Karine, who often wrestled at DWW and did a tour at Berlin’s Fighting Style Expo, competing in some very intense matches where she actually made girls cry, it was with pleasure that we viewed this match where she would wrestle Julia in a co-production between DWW and TAC, otherwise known as The Amazon’s Club.

Karine looks pretty in pink as she sports a bikini fitness style outfit adorned with her usual head band. Julia, a slightly more shapely girl, is preciously beautified in a green printed two piece.

The dark haired girl apparently agreed to wrestle Karine, which is fine, but the fact that she signed on to a form of cat fighting with some face slapping involved is a little puzzling. If anyone knows of Karine’s reputation to have a hot temper, even with straight wrestling, we wonder why you would add pepper to the menu when there is so much hot sauce simmering beneath the surface.

TAC and DWW apparently agreed to work together on this and the indoor studio atmosphere is one that is fairly subdued, dignified and quiet, though there is an audience in attendance.

The girls begin to circle one another and begin the match with some minor slapping before they crash to the mats with Karine not surprisingly securing the head lock. They grapple around for a minute and now a little surprisingly, Julia rolls Karine and gets in the controlling position with a head lock of her own.

It doesn’t last.

While Julia is a competent wrestler, she is not a closer and therein seems to be at least one of the differences between her and Karine.

She had her chances but when she was on top seemed to spend too much time trying to slap Karine instead of submitting her.

Karine soon seizes the advantage and now places Julia in a submitting position by sitting atop of her in attempting a school girl pin. Julia lifts her beautiful thick legs and grasps Karine in a floor to top body scissors and rolls her into a side body scissors.

This is where she should close.

But she doesn’t.

Karine breaks the hold and Julia tries to escape but gives up her back to Karine which is a mistake. Karine races after her from behind and clasps her in an above the top body scissors which morphs into a side body scissors.

Karine is a closer and squeezes hard. Julia relents and taps out.

At approximately the 3 minute mark it is 1-0 Karine.

During the break Karine takes a drink from her water bottle and apparently Julia is so comfortable and on good terms with Karine that she drinks from the same bottle.

The second round is all Karine who takes Julia down to the ground with a head lock and lies there for a minute then eventually she mildly tortures her with a grapevine but Julia is yet to give in.

Good for her. Admirable.

She is out gunned though and Karine slips her into a body scissors after smacking Julia on the butt for a little bit of humiliation. Julia eventually breaks out of that as well. That’s nice but can she do anything with those mild successes?

The answer thus far and in the near future is no.

Ground struggles are in order but Karine is constantly on top and, at points in time, engages in some intense slapping. Julia is still game and there appears to be no give in her. Karine even traps her from the sitting position in a lower leg head scissors and Julia still escapes.

The back and forth continues and Julia even has Karine on the mat, flat on her back while she is in a standing position.

She still can’t close the deal.

Finally Karine dominates her with a school girl pin then an elongated smother and at the 15 minute mark, Julia has had enough.

Karine is the winner.

Once the match is over, even with all of the slapping, Julia playfully attacks Karine who smiles and brushes it off. That’s a first. Karine is not known for her sense of humor but in the inter-club matchup it is truly competitive, yet sporting.

It is a fresh change for Karine though we must we love her feisty side.

In summary, a wonderful Germanic women’s wrestling match for the history books.

Time to move into the future.

CURIE VS ANETT

We’re going to start with the match we expect Germany’s Curie to win and get progressively tougher.

Anett of Hungary has some experience but based upon what we see online, not a lot of matches.

Curie has been around for several years thus we expect things to go Curie’s way.

The match starts as expected. With the girls on their knees, Curie quickly seizes Anett from behind the neck, grapples for a little, then takes her down and traps Anett in a strong behind the back scissors. Anett gives.

1-0 Curie.

As round two begins, the German star continues to control Anett and it becomes clear, as we thought, Curie has a higher skill level. For a moment it appears she will trap Anett with a sitting head scissor but loosens that and quickly submits her in an arm bar.

Curie leads 2-0.

Round three sees Anett start more aggressively and she negotiates Curie to the floor and lands on top of her trying to secure a grapevine. The possibility is there but Anett cannot sustain the hold.

We like Anett (yes, there is a but).

But, she laughs a lot. Smiles a ton. Talks quite a bit during the match. Typically when a girl fits that profile, during her match she has only one future.

She’s going to lose.

Too, when the girl talks too much, what once felt fully competitive turns into a running commentary, filled with jokes and the match loses its power. At FCI, we always ask the girls not to talk during the match.

Curie just escaped the grapevine and goes on the offensive. She’s smiling but only in a polite sort of way. She’s all business. She pulls Anett forward with a ground to floor body scissors, secures a headlock and Anett taps.

We sense we know how the rest of this one will go and you probably do to.
