May 27, 2023,

If you think you are seeing double, you are. And that is a good thing.

Make that a great thing.

Watching twin sisters wrestle is often a historic and an extremely enjoyable experience.

Watch this YouTube video, while it lasts, and see what we mean.

UWW debuts at the beautiful House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas! Some of the top women wrestlers in the world compete in this special event. Produced live December 2022.”

See what we mean?

It was fun wasn’t it?

Let’s duplicate this.

Ready for more fun?

We grapple back in time to 2012 where dailymail.co.uk reported, “By day, twins Lucy and Kelly Knott, are teaching assistants at St Winifred’s RC Primary School in Stockport but by night, the twosome are professional wrestlers.

Better known in wrestling circles as the Blossom Twins, the 24-year-old sisters discovered their passion for the sport aged 12 and haven’t looked back since. By night… The duo compete under the alter-ego ‘the Blossom Twins’ at wrestling. Working as a tag team, the twins work as a team and take it in turns to battle their opponents, like a relay.”

Fascinating. Twins always are. Let’s get a closer look.

Kelly Sharpe, born Kelly Knott, is an English professional wrestler who was signed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) under the ring name of Holly Blossom. She is twin sister of Hannah Blossom who was also a professional wrestler and her tag team partner working in TNA as The Blossom Twins.

The girls grew up in Stockport, Greater Manchester, where they attended St Winifred’s RC Primary School.

Let’s briefly visit Stockport.

Stockport is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, 7 miles south-east of Manchester city center.

Historically, most of the town was in Cheshire, but the area to the north of the Mersey was in Lancashire.

Now if the Mersey part sounds a little familiar, it is because there is a musical history there.

Remember the British invasion?

Ferry Cross the Mersey” is a song written by Gerry Marsden.

It was first recorded by his band Gerry and the Pacemakers and released in late 1964 in the UK and in 1965 in the United States. It was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching number six in the United States and number eight in the UK.

Mersey refers to the River Mersey in northwest England, a river that flows into the Irish Sea at Liverpool.

Okay, while it lasts.

You see? These beautiful twins are from a very musically historic place.

Time to move up the timeline.

On January 1, 2013 the informative site digitalspy.com shares, “Lucy and Kelly Knott, who are known as the Blossom Twins, have become very popular in the wrestling world since their debut in 2008, due in part to the crop-top outfits they wear during their fights and the cupcakes that they hand out.”

That’s right. Isn’t that so sweet? If you watch their videos they do actually hand out delicious cupcakes before the match.

The girls are living their dream as they used to love to watch professional wrestling as children with their brother. Now they get to do it themselves.

The choreographed flips, dynamic ring energy, bright patriotic attire and synchronization between the two who clearly have deep affection for each other and having each other’s back is inspiring.

At the great industry review site cagematch.net the fans double down on the twins:

  1. “The Blossom Twins work so well as a duo, and as singles competitors. They are in such perfect synch, and they work together so well. Can’t wait to see where the future takes them.”
  2. “A great team with great potential. Two gorgeous twin girls from the UK that have good wrestling skill. They have great marketability (Similar to the Bella Twins) and would work great in any promotion as their spunky attitude is very appealing.”

We loved watching them too. Especially when they faced another set of twins named the Owens. Sometimes the announcers had trouble telling the difference between the two.

Just as the excitement was building, we received some sad news.

On January 18, 2014 at the informative site thebritishwrestlingrevival.wordpress.com, they announced, “At the start of this year Hannah and Holly announced their intentions to take a break from the business.”

The longtime industry site diva-dirt.com adds, “Hannah and Holly Blossom announced on their official Facebook page that they are taking a hiatus from wrestling and are no longer a part of OVW or TNA.

As of late we have been getting a lot of questions about the impact tour, TNA and OVW, etc., and we absolutely LOVE you guys for it! However, as of right now we are no longer with either TNA or OVW. We are actually taking a little break from wrestling. After 9 years and with lots of new and exciting things that took place in both our lives last year, it’s just time for us to take a break!

For us, the two shy little girls who dreamed of being wrestlers at 12 years old, we have achieved more than we could ever have imagined!”

Their hiatus was understandable. On the road so much, they missed their families. It was time to go home and spend more time with them.

They also had a lot of other dreams that they wanted to pursue and after both of them planning on getting married, they simply wanted some personal time and the time just felt right for them.

Fortunately they decided to make a form of a comeback.

Here is a great interview from Wrestling Travel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJgtwpLOZGM

Here is their video regarding their anti-bullying campaign https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdREqZ5AOqk

One more.

Here is a more recent match the twins had facing Nikki Storm vs Shanna. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_JhuyoEnRE

We love the Blossom Twins. Doubly so.

Back in the golden era of DWW, we salivated over the twins Irene and Iva, Michaela N and Monika N, Andy and Rene along with Dagmar and Sandra.

Many are familiar with the WWE Bella Twins.

The Bella Twins were a professional wrestling tag team which performed on WWE and consisted of real-life twin sisters Brie Bella and Nikki Bella. They are both former Divas Champions, with Nikki having held the divas championship for 301 days, being the longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE history.

That was fun.

Women’s wrestling single matches are entertaining. Agree? Of course you do.

But when it comes to women’s wrestling matches that involve twins?

Women’s wrestling matches are doubly fun.
