A way to Get Better Results From Your Self Improvement Efforts
 by: Amie Erickson

Reading a book is additionally self-improvement and private development or to be more precise, reading the book alone is not very self-improvement, however reading the book, and applying what you learn is. To illustrate my point let’s talk concerning one thing very generic, if you browse a book on let’s say programming a webpage, it will perhaps help you perceive how the programmer makes the net-pages, but the particular page you would like to make, cannot exist before you start programming it.

And equally the development of yourself will not occur just from reading a lot of books, but by applying what you learn in those books it will!

fciwomenswrestling.com article, microsoft photo

A massive variety of folks browse a ton of self-improvement books, or even I should say a lot of beginnings of self-improvement books, however not that several actually finish the books, and even fewer start applying the concepts or exercises they are presented with in the books. Whereas they’ll like the book and the suggestions in it, most folks have a brief attention span, and before they get around to applying the new information, their eyes gets caught by another nice book, or one thing entirely totally different, and that they quickly move on while not getting any extremely life altering edges from it.

The secret behind good self-improvement and personal development is that when you discover something you think might benefit you, you look additional into the topic, either by buying and reading a book regarding it, or finding data on the topic elsewhere, and at last applying the data in your own life and thereby making the enhancements you desire.

Remember it’s continually smart to learn new things from reading a sensible book on the topic, but the knowledge has got to be put to smart use if you really wish to learn from it.

Even Faster Self Improvement Is Doable

fciwomenswrestling.com article - Wikimedia Photo

If you have got interest in speeding up your self-improvement even any, maybe you must consider looking into self-hypnosis or meditation. Meditation is good for the soul and helps making an inner calm, while self-hypnosis could be a very useful tool for implementing changes in your behavior.

So as to urge any advantages from either of these methods you will have to be consistent in using and or applying them in your life. Regular use of meditation or self-hypnosis will strengthen whatever have gone before it so to speak. Really it’s like with each new thing, in the start it’s not so straightforward, and it takes some effort both to apply it, and to remain with the program, however once a whereas, it more or less becomes automatic or second nature to you, and that’s when you may start to really notice the benefits.

If you are interested in learning meditation I’d suggest you seek for a private teacher, as you’ll be enjoying around with the powers of your own psyche and as you immerse deeper into the techniques you may be stirring up recent emotions that can be difficult to tackle on your own.

A trained meditation teacher can bear in mind that this stuff happen beforehand, and is equipped to handle the emotions and make a case for to you the way to deal with them.

On the other hand if you want to learn self-hypnosis for self-improvement you could simply make sensible progress from the home study course I suggest at my website. Truly self-improvement by self- hypnosis may be a very powerful tool, and if you have got access to 1, I suggest you put it to smart use, remember though, shopping for, and reading the material isn’t enough, you want to apply the knowledge too.

Mikaela Florida Wrestler

Some women during wrestling matches have their thinking cap on, their aggression in high gear and their conditioning as an asset. Florida wrestler Mikaela’s game has all of those components aligned with one more major ingredient that she described herself in her interview with FCI Women’s Wrestling.

“My adrenaline was pumping.”

Mikaela is a beautiful, nicely tanned; perfectly muscled young beauty who is a girl of action.

fciwomenswrestling.com article - photo

Some company should create in action comic book character in her name. It most likely would be a best seller.

Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.……W. Clement Stone

The nice information site wisegeek.com explains, “Adrenaline is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands during high stress or exciting situations. This powerful hormone is part of the human body’s acute stress response system, also called the “fight or flight” response. It works by stimulating the heart rate, contracting blood vessels, and dilating air passages, all of which work to increase blood flow to the muscles and oxygen to the lungs. Additionally, it is used as a medical treatment for some potentially life-threatening conditions including anaphylactic shock. In the US, the medical community largely refers to this hormone as epinephrine, although the two terms may be used interchangeably.”

With Mikaela, during her matches she is never in flight.

She’s always in Fight Mode.

Her matches often end early. Someone couldn’t finish. That happened when she faced industry top stars, Shauna Ryanne and super star Jolene. The contests were so intense that health issues dictated truncation.

Interestingly away from the mats Mikaela is very soft spoken and very unobtrusive. She blends in with the crowd effortlessly and rarely speaks.

Against lesser skilled opponents as a beautiful fresh faced brunette named Sarah found out, Mikaela can be destructive. That was a match that probably should have been called early. Poor Sarah found herself in one excruciating body scissors after another.

Femwin Event

Mikaela one

She completely dominated another Las Vegas beauty named Diana and that match was so one sided that you can guess what happened.

It was called early.

Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action.…….Peter Drucker

Oh Mikaela. What a wonderful gift she is to the women’s submission wrestling world. We should not be surprised. It’s in her name. Her name means Gift from God.

The expansive naming site sheknows.com is in the know. “People with this name have a deep inner need for quiet, and a desire to understand and analyze the world they live in, and to learn the deeper truths.

People with this name are excellent at analyzing, understanding, and learning. They tend to be mystics, philosophers, scholars, and teachers. Because they live so much in the mind, they tend to be quiet and introspective, and are usually introverts. When presented with issues, they will see the larger picture. Their solitary thoughtfulness and analysis of people and world events may make them seem aloof, and sometimes even melancholy.”

This seems to describe Mikaela to perfection as she quietly sits in between matches.

According to Mikaela’s profile at the women’s wrestlers list, she hails from Tampa Bay although in an article at Femcompetitor Magazine, she has spent extensive time in Miami as well.

Let’s travel to this Florida paradisiac region.

The city of Tampa, situated on an inlet reaching far into the west coast of Florida, is the economic center of western Florida. The city center is an area of high-rise office blocks, but Tampa also has historic old quarters such as Ybor City and Old Hyde Park.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, wikimedia photo

Tampa is a city in and the county seat of Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is located on the west coast of Florida on Tampa Bay, near the Gulf of Mexico, and is part of the Tampa Bay Metropolitan Area. The city had a population of 346,037 in 2011.

Today, Tampa is part of the metropolitan area most commonly referred to as the Tampa Bay Area. For U.S. Census purposes, Tampa is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The four-county area is composed of roughly 2.9 million residents, making it the second largest metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the state, and the fourth largest in the Southeastern United States, behind Miami, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, wikimedia photo

Tampa was ranked as the 5th best outdoor city by Forbes in 2008. Tampa also ranks as the fifth most popular American city, based on where people want to live, according to a 2009 Pew Research Center study. A 2004 survey by the NYU newspaper Washington Square News ranked Tampa as a top city for “twenty-somethings.”

Ah, filled with super sexy, tanned twenty somethings. That describes Mikaela.

The enjoyable media source USA Today speaks to the night life in Tampa. “Looking for a place to dance the night away? Tampa has more than a few great options to choose from. Whether you’re looking for your favorite DJ, fabulous light shows, or value for your dollar, there is a Club for you. Through extensive on-site research, 10 Best has found the top hot spots so you don’t waste your vacation time worrying about where to go.

When Ybor City reinvented itself in the 90’s, it primarily became known for its nightlife, particularly its dance clubs. Everyone looking to party in Tampa, from professionals to college kids, went to Ybor on weekend nights. That scene is still going strong, even though the clubs might have changed hands, changed genres, or changed buildings. Currently the hottest ticket in town is the CZAR in the Ritz weekend dance parties.”

Sounds like fun. Almost as much fun as watching Mikaela wrestle.

Having witnessed some of her matches live it can be said that Mikaela gives it everything she’s got. There is nothing left on the mats when it’s over. This thoughtful young woman is someone to continue to follow. She’s immensely talented, in fantastic shape, is street wise, savvy, professional and above all……….

She is a girl of action.

Revlon Empowers Women

A comfortable beautiful soft wool quilt that has been in the family for years can be a source of comfort and warmth by the fireplace during the winter season.

The beauty of Revlon is that this great beauty and skin care company has been a warm part of the American fabric for decades.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, Revlon photo

The widely respected educational source Wikimedia relates, “Revlon was founded in the midst of the Great Depression, 1931, by Charles Revson and his brothers Joseph and Joel Roberts, along with a chemist, Charles Lachman, who contributed the “L” in the Revlon name.

Starting with a single product — a new type of nail enamel — the three founders pooled their resources and developed a unique manufacturing process. Using pigments instead of dyes, Revlon developed a variety of new shades of opaque nail enamel. In 1937, Revlon started selling the polishes in department stores and drug stores. In six years, the company became a multimillion dollar organization.

By the end of the war, Revlon was listed as one of America’s top five cosmetic houses.”

That was a great historical foundation. So what’s new with Revlon?

fciwomenswrestling.com article - wikimedia photo

During the age of the Millennials, Revlon has evolved and enhanced its products while still keeping an eye on their social responsibilities. Before we speak to how they have been giving back to society, let’s remind ourselves who they have evolved in to during the millennial age.

Their exciting website paints a colorful and glowing picture. “Revlon is a global color cosmetics, hair color, beauty tools, fragrances, skincare, anti-perspirant deodorants and beauty care products company whose vision is Glamour, Excitement and Innovation through high-quality products at affordable prices.

Revlon® is one of the strongest consumer brand franchises in the world.

Revlon’s global brand portfolio includes Revlon® color cosmetics, Almay® color cosmetics, SinfulColors® color cosmetics, Pure Ice® color cosmetics, Revlon ColorSilk® hair color, Revlon® beauty tools, Charlie® fragrances, Mitchum® anti-perspirant deodorants, and Ultima II® and Gatineau® skincare.

As a result of its acquisition of The Colomer Group in October 2013, Revlon’s global portfolio also includes: Revlon Professional®, Intercosmo®, Orofluido® and UniqOne™ hair care; CND®, CND Shellac® and CND Vinylux™ nail polishes; and American Crew® men’s hair care. Websites featuring current product and promotional information can be reached at www.revlon.com, www.almay.com, www.mitchum.com, and www.thecolomergroup.com.”

Wow! This group has been really busy.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, Wikimedia photo

Another nice touch is added as we listen in on their marketing strategy at Revlon.com. “The millennium brought a bold new influence to Revlon when world-renowned makeup artist Gucci Westman joined as Global Artistic Director, pushing the brand on the forefront of trends and fashion.

In 2011, talented and style savvy movie stars Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde joined the long list of inspiring, beautiful women who call themselves Revlon Brand Ambassadors.”

We’ve seen their expanded and enhanced product lines. So, how are they getting this message out to a youthful audience? In what ways are they honoring their commitment to give back to the community?

Let’s be polite and allow them to speak for themselves at http://www.revloncares.com/Events.aspx

“Over the past two decades, the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women has become one of the leading national fundraising events which unites thousands of women in the fight against cancer. The New York and Los Angeles Run/Walk events together have raised and distributed over $65 million for women’s cancer research, treatment, counseling and outreach programs nationwide.

Some of the beneficiaries include the Actors’ Fund of America, Albert Einstein Cancer Center, CancerCare, Gilda’s Club New York City, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, EIF Women’s Cancer Programs, and Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, among others. Revlon and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) created the event in 1993, with the combined efforts of Revlon Chairman Ronald O. Perelman and co-founder Lilly Tartikoff.”

Their charitable work has come to the attention of others as well. On May 12, 2014 the entertainment site looktothestars.org/news exudes, “Created by the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), Revlon, and Lilly Tartikoff, the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women has become one of the largest single-day fundraisers for women’s cancers in the United States. More than 30,000 participants joined together to help raise critical funds to support women’s cancer research, counseling and outreach programs.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, Revlon photo

It was hosted by Revlon Global Brand Ambassador Halle Berry, Golden Globe and double Emmy-winning actor Bruce Willis, and Emmy Award-winning actress Christina Applegate with special guest Entertainment Tonight’s Brooke Anderson.”

Some of the world’s most beautiful and inspiring women have been Revlon Brand Ambassadors. According to their site, their current Brand Ambassadors are Olivia Wilde, Halle Berry, and Emma Stone.

Here is what else Revlon has been up to.

The company has gone to great expense to support to try and eliminate any carcinogens in their products. The widely respected news source time.com reported that Revlon announced that two long-chain parabens and a formaldehyde-releasing chemical would no longer be used as ingredients in its products, in a move that was applauded by environmental and health advocates.

Long-chain parabens have been linked to endocrine disruption, while formaldehyde may cause cancer.

Clearly Revlon has gone to great lengths to be innovative, relevant and a fun choice for a young dynamic female market that reads our family of websites.

If you were thinking about a career at Revlon, you might be surprised at the variety of career options available. Here is their link so you can check it out.

Femvertising Is Huge!

Here is another real life experience that Female Competition International (FCI) would like to share with you.

We wrote an article on a beautiful submission wrestler who previously had been used to promoting her powerful sexuality to sell her products and sessions. After interviewing her, once it was time to write the article we asked for pictures of her fully clothed.

fciwomenswrestling article, Wikimedia photo

She was shocked and a little offended.

It took some time but we finally won her over by explaining that we feel that her male customers will actually begin to identify with her more emotionally if she protects her privacy but sell her interests and personality. If her and other female wrestler’s futures are based strictly upon their sex appeal then the aging process and the next youngest beauty will replace them.

FCI has been preaching this since we first began publishing in January of 2013. Apparently Madison Avenue is finally in agreement and there is a new movement towards Femvertising.

What is Femvertising?

Femvertising are ads that celebrate women and girls rather than objectify them.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, basqueteam.com photo

In an October 3, 2014 article written by the talented writer Nina Bahadur for the Huffington Post, she explained ads that inspire and empower women may actually be making a difference, both to the way women feel about themselves and companies’ bottom lines.

The overall feel of the article is that women have a very positive response to articles featuring them in a positive and human light.

A women’s lifestyle website, SheKnows polled 628 women about their thoughts on femvertising and how it impacted their purchasing. They found that 91 percent of respondents believe how women are portrayed in advertising has a direct impact on girls’ self-esteem, and 94 percent agree that portraying women as sex symbols in advertisements is harmful.

The summary of their study showed “femvertising” ads are well-received: 51 percent of women polled like pro-female ads because they believe they break down gender-equality barriers, and 71 percent of respondents think brands should be responsible for using advertising to promote positive messages to women and girls. The survey also showed that femvertising pays off for brands — 52 percent of women polled had purchased a product because they liked the way the ads portrayed women.

article fciwomenswrestling.com

According to AdWeek, in speaking to other supporting facts that reaffirm the effectiveness of Femvertising the magazine cited:

  • 51 percent of women liked pro-female ads because they felt it broke gender barriers. “Portray women as intelligent,” said a Baby Boomer working mom with a child over 18. “Truly think about the message of the commercial—so many commercials today have the message ‘our customers are idiots.’ Why would I go out of my way to buy from a company that doesn’t respect me? Don’t take cheap shots at anyone—men, women or children.”
  • 4 out of 5 women thought it was important for younger generations to see a positive portrayal of women. An overwhelming majority felt that how women are seen in campaigns has a direct effect on girls’ self-esteem. “I’d like to see less Photo shopping of images so that young women and girls know what real women look like and have a realistic sense of beauty,” said one millennial mom.
  • 71 percent said brands should be held responsible for how they use their advertising to promote positive messages about women—and 3 out of 5 women believed that any brand can be pro-women.
  • 94 percent said that using women as sex symbols was harmful to the gender. “So much advertising that is targeted to women [has] the underlying message that being ‘sexually’ attractive is the ultimate benchmark of beauty and self-worth. … We need to expand ‘sexy’ to include more cerebral/emotional qualities: sense of humor, creativity, compassion, care etc.,” a Gen X woman said.
  • 75 percent said they liked ads that featured everyday women, 19 percent said they don’t notice them and 6 percent said they didn’t like them at all. Said a millennial college student: “Be realistic when showing a woman in an ad, be conscientious about language and the dialogue between women and men, and women and women. Break gender barriers! Avoid social construction of gender. Don’t treat women as objects or portray them in any way that makes them less human.”
  • Only half of the women who took the survey consider themselves feminists, but 89 percent felt that gender equality is a human rights issue.

Sincerity is very important. An innovative media site www.marketingpilgrim.com makes a very good point. “Now it’s time for a word of warning. The only thing worse than ignoring your female audience is pandering to them. If you marketing efforts come off as phony, you’re doomed. Authenticity is the watchword. Find a way to tell a real, young woman’s story as it relates to your product and you’ve got the makings of a viral, winner.”

Another media giant, Time Magazine has been reading and evaluating the Femvertising revolution and weighs with their two cents. “While some critics oppose using half-hearted tales of “empowerment” or pseudo-feminism to get women to buy more soap and beauty products, SheKnows found that most women it surveyed praised the strategy. But other than Dove, what brands do women remember as being “pro-female?” (92% were aware of at least one pro-female ad campaign.) When SheKnows asked what brands women think are “doing it right,” the top ten included: Nike, Hanes, Olay, Dove, Always, Pantene, Playtex, Covergirl, Underarmour, and Sears.”

At FCI, we feel that our female wrestling community is on the right track if there is recognition that messages that humanize and empower women will bring us closer to a larger mainstream audience to support our products.

We realize this is a cultural shift but as President John F. Kennedy was quoted as saying, “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.

Safa Warda Wrestler

The notion that Chicago is a really windy city is a myth. Amarillo Texas is actually one of the windiest cities in America. Chicago has it’s abundance of wind being located near a lake, but wind is something most Chicagoans probably do not want more of.

An abundance of certain things is never enough.

The earth can never have enough fresh air, good food, gorgeous sunsets and clean water.

fciwomenswrestling.com article - wikimedia photo

People can never have enough good health, cherished memories, close loving family members and real happiness.

In the fully competitive women’s wrestling industry, we can never have enough wrestlers like The Windy City War Princess, Safa Warda.

Why so?

Many competitors have skill, beauty, talent, athleticism and determination. Safa has that and something else so often missing.

Yes, she is high energy sandwiched with great enthusiasm. The intriguing thing about all of this is that even for a decades old FvF industry hound like me, I have never heard of her. I accidentally stumbled upon her bio when I was researching an article for another girl that Safa had previously wrestled.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femwrestle.com photo

Once I saw her wrestle, trust me, I’ll never forget her. She has zest but let’s also add intensity.

A customer agrees. At wb270.com a panting customer expresses, “I wrestled several famous wrestlers the last years but the experience wrestling Safa was unique! Safa is a model but from the first seconds I understood she is a very strong wrestler! It was like street-fighting!

She had a strong drive to win and there was no way to give up. She was constantly attacking me and using all possible holds. She is very flexible with her body and that made it her easy to practice several “demanding” holds to me… Throughout the session, we barely stopped some minutes to take a rest.. She really loves to wrestle and this is so easy to see… Finally, she is a fantastic, happy, easy going person and a very beautiful woman.”

That was from the customer’s view. Let’s take a look at a view from the company office. Found at http://www.scissorfoxes.com/foxes/safa.html, the respected management exclaims, “Safa is known to be a very aggressive wrestler who gives 200%. Even though this match isn’t fully competitive, you can certainly see the explosion of energy Safa has.”

Safa’s reputation is great in America but what about in the old world? One of our industry leaders who is a producer of female wrestling events in England speaks to the intensity of one of her matches at London Wrestling Studios. “The explosiveness that this match started out with got everyone’s attention.

The larger of the 2 wrestlers, Minnie, used her strength to attempt to pin down her opponent, but Safas tenaciousness would not allow that to happen. Unfortunately, this is where the contest had to be temporally halted while Safa had an injury she sustained tended to. The match was set to be continued later in the afternoon.

The match was restarted and straight away both wrestlers took off with the same energy where they left off.”

You can purchase the match at: londonwrestlingstudio.co.uk/

Safa has made it clear that if you want to make it in the wrestling and modeling business, you have to tour. We’ll travel to Germany and get the Wienerschnitzel on her from one of the most consistent female vs female wrestling sites, femwrestle.com.

“The first Match from November 2014 Event. And it’s great, muscular hard body Jenna from Hungary vs wild Safa. It seems to be a hard match for Safa she looks much smaller than Jenna, but she’s a real wild girl see what happens.”

That seems consistent with what we’ve heard so far. She has zest, is intense, wild, aggressive and energetic. Would we want a women’s wrestling match any other way? Where did all of this come from?

From Chicago, where else? Home of another superstar in Gia Primo.

Muster all of your energy, pack your bags and please travel with us to Chicago. At http://www.cityofchicago.org they let us know this huge metropolis is energy efficient.

The Mayor embraces the idea. “Chicago is continuing to invest in the industries of tomorrow in order to create the jobs we need today. Leading in alternative energies supports the kind of sustainable economic development and cost savings for our homeowners and businesses that we need.” — Mayor Emanuel

fciwomenswrestling.com article, Wikimedia photo

Then the city backs him up. “By increasing the efficiency of buildings and transportation, Chicago saves money, conserves resources, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Using clean and renewable energy sources improves air quality and invests in the industries of tomorrow.”

The fantastic information source lays a beautiful foundation for what and who Chicago is.

Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States, after New York City and Los Angeles. With 2.7 million residents, it is the most populous city in both the U.S. state of Illinois and the American Midwest. Its metropolitan area, sometimes called Chicagoland, is home to 9.5 million people and is the third-largest in the United States. Chicago is the seat of Cook County.

Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837, near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed, and experienced rapid growth in the mid-nineteenth century.

Today, the city is an international hub for finance, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation, with O’Hare International Airport being the busiest airport in the world; it also has the largest number of U.S. highways, and railroad freight entering its region.

In 2012, Chicago was listed as an alpha global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and ranks seventh in the world in the 2014 Global Cities Index. As of 2012, Chicago had the third largest gross metropolitan product in the United States, after the New York City and Los Angeles metropolitan areas, at a sum of US $571 billion.”

A great girl from a magnificent city.

We’ve heard virtually everyone spread joy about Safa in the wrestling world like spreading sauerkraut over a mustard filled polish hot dog. Like most Fem Competitors, Safa models as well. Here is what it’s like to work with her in the modeling industry so says a respected business person in the field at modelmayhem.com.

“I’ve worked with Safa a few times now…I must say she’s a blast to work with and you should consider contacting her to schedule a shoot.  She knows what she wants and can pose every second of the entire shoot.  She’s very reliable and shows up on time, ready and willing to work.  She’s also dedicated and hard working.”

Can I get my two cents in?

Here is what I like about watching Safa wrestle.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, londonwrestlingstudios.com photo

I saw a number of small clips online but wanted to test her out in a full match so I purchased her match at London Wrestling Studios verses the super sexy Justice. The girls were evenly matched and as a hired gun brought in from Chicago, The Windy City War Princess went full tilt with our English Maiden. It was non-stop from start to go and there was a lot of pride on the line. The outcome was in doubt right up until the end.

Being a fan who has intensely watched women wrestle for over twenty years, I can truly say that Safa is unique in terms of pushing the gas to the floor during matches. I’ve never been a fan of coasting, pacing and excessive match chit chat.

Safa delivers the goods. I only wish that she would wrestle more. You can purchase her variety of matches at Fantasy Fight Girls, Leather and Lace, Scissor Vixens, Brutal Beauties, JL Productions and Iron Bells.

You can find an excellent interview on her at: http://michaelcross21.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/interview-with-a-wrestler-8/

A couple of onions and relish that caught my eye is that Safa loves the chokehold and Gia Primo is one of her toughest opponents. I’ve communicated with Gia through email and couldn’t help but tell the world about her (Link: femcompetitor.com/?p=228 Article entitled: Gia Primo, A Submission Wrestler That Is Premium Grade!).

A girl constantly on the go, Safa spends time in Nicsia and Athens as well as Chicago.

Let’s finally let Safa speak for herself. At wb270.com she keeps it simple. “I am located in the Chicago area and have access to a private ring. I’m 5 minutes from Midway airport for matches. I travel as well but my home sessions are booked there. I have no problem meeting in hotels when I travel and will make certain I have enough room to wrestle. I am 5’5” 130 IBS with hazel eyes.”

She’s as yummy as a plate of slow cooked BBQ ribs with perfectly pickled potato salad on an empty stomach at lunch time and as tasty as spicy pan fried pizza after a workout at dinner.

Watching a beautiful girl like Safa compete is one of the reasons why I stay obsessed covering women’s wrestling. The qualities she possesses as a wrestler, model and business woman…………….

You can never have enough of.

SF Fem Wrestling 2014

2014 was a great year in women’s fully competitive wrestling.

When you value the ability to understand the worth, quality, or importance of something and in this case a group of talented beautiful competitors; that describes appreciation.

Female Competition International would like to thank Mona Wales, Daisy Ducati, Andre Shakti, Evadne, Minxy Li and Isamar Gutierrez for allowing us to cover one of their wrestling shoots during 2014. It was very enjoyable for us and we would like to share it with you readers through a few pictures.

Let’s begin with Mona Wales.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

When I first saw Mona inside of the famous San Jose studio, I thought quietly what a gorgeous woman she was. She enhanced that vision with a bubbly personality, dynamic energy and friendly disposition. The girl’s got a sense of humor too.

When I knew I was going to cover the shoot, as usual I researched her before-hand online and can comfortably say in person she exceeded already high expectations.

I liked her unpredictability and found her wrestling to be extremely erotic. If you are a wrestling producer or photographer that shoots models, I’m sure you’ll enjoy working with Mona. I certainly did.

Daisy Ducati

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

I was fortunate enough to work with Daisy Ducati in 2013 when I covered small women’s wrestling shoot in San Jose, so she was already a known quantity to me. She was very professional and possessed a quiet demeanor so in 2014 when I had an opportunity to drive with Daisy from her San Francisco digs to another San Jose matchup, I jumped at the chance.

She has a great sense of style and fits the cool San Francisco lifestyle and image perfectly. As we drove southward, she was easy to talk with and very down to earth. We later talked about where she grew up, her family and her high school wrestling experiences as we hung out at The YC, a quaint San Jose coffee shop on East Taylor Street where the owner is very personable.

I was always curious about the life of the glamorous runway model and since she had previously plied in that trade as a young teen, it was very revealing what she experienced from inside the game.

If you desire to shoot a beautiful model with a great personality whose magic jumps out at your lens, sexy Daisy is the girl.

Oh by the way, she’s a great wrestler too.

Andre Shakti

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

When FCI interviews competitors, a large portion of our interviews focuses on their travel experiences and favorite fun in the sun destinations. Andre and I both surprised each other during our discussion. She wasn’t used to getting interviewed about travel at her grappling matches and I was shocked at how many places that Andre has traveled to. I have never interviewed a female wrestler that has traveled the globe as much as Andre.

She would give the travel super star Adventurous Kate a run for her money.

It is absolutely amazing how many countries she’s jetted to and what corners of the globe she has experienced.

She enjoys rock climbing and her wrestling that day was rock solid. Andre is a new generation of female wrestler who is fun to watch with a dash of exotic sex appeal.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

Ingrid tends to be very quiet and observant so during our interview I would try and peel back the layers and she was very forth coming about her time growing up in Oakland and her ventures near the Mexican border.

She looks very young in person and revealed that she had very little competitive wrestling experience. Trust me, you couldn’t tell once she hits the mats. She took to it like a Lake Merritt duck takes to bay area salt water.

She appears to have already learned a very important sports axiom that I understood as a former coach in the elite high school sports world. Minimize your weaknesses and pound away at your strengths until your opponent finds a way to stop it; which they often don’t until it’s too late and you have secured a victory.

Ingrid is great at the signature chokehold move and used it to perfection to subdue and erotically dominate a veteran feminine opponent in a fully competitive match. It was one of the best matches I had seen all year, online or live.

Ingrid smiled and stated she didn’t view wrestling as a career but I hope she changes her mind. For a new girl she is really good and if that day was any indication of what she can do, I look forward to the day when she gains lots of experience.

I would follow her the rest of the year and once again at another site she met up with a fem competitor with more experience and Ingrid completely dominated her.

Keep your eye on this rising star from the New Oakland.

No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.…..James Allen

(FeFe left, Evadne right)

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

Evadne is a person you could spend hours talking to and hope the conversation never ends. I had the pleasure of covering one of Evadne’s wrestling matches; the first being in 2012 at an East Bay dojo. Every time I watch her compete, she brings a lot of passion and intensity yet she maintains a good spirit of sportsmanship and a nice sense of humor.

What intrigues me about her is how much she has changed internally since the first time we met.

When I first saw her I salivated at the thought of her portraying a Marilyn Monroe persona which she had done before and have her incorporate that character into her wrestling matches. I’m sure it would be a super turn on. Visions of platinum blonde hair and curves danced in my head like shapely East Bay sugar plum fairies.

She has evolved and matured since then and when working with her in 2014, it was as though I was finally meeting the real Evadne for the first time. As usual she was enjoyable to work with and very sexy to watch in grueling feminine battle.

Minxy Li

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

It’s a story now famous and often told but John Travolta was supposed to play the role of the suave and cosmopolitan Julian Kay in the cult classic American Gigolo which instead launched the career of the brilliant Richard Gere.

I had a chance to cover a wrestling shoot which included the shapely British star Minxy Li who initially wasn’t supposed to be there because an American star fell ill and couldn’t make it.

I’m really glad Minxy was able to stand in. When you photograph beautiful shapely stars like Minxy Li, it reminds you that you have one of the best jobs in the world.

Minxy speaks gracefully and wrestles powerfully.

She would tell me many things that day which included explaining her business plan which must be working since she is an independent contractor fulltime. She competed with zest and entertained with running commentary and occasional unique laughter.

The group would later have lunch and as usual Minxy was Jolly Good and the life of the party.

Isamar Gutierrez.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

Covering wrestling shoots in the San Francisco, San Jose bay area would not be possible without the help of the greatest recruiter in Nor Cal in Isamar Gutierrez.

As usual she’s beautiful to watch, fun company, makes it easy for the girls to compete and for me to get the story. Of course she’s still a dominant force on the mats and proved it at both shoots.

FCI would like to thank all of the female wrestlers that we worked with and you the reader for visiting our sites whose traffic are growing in leaps and bounds.

In 2015 we promise to make every effort to improve the quality and creativity of the articles that showcase the beautiful women of our great global female wrestling industry.

We believe in taking something commonly done and make every effort to enhance it in an uncommon way.

We would like to wish you, your family and all of your friends a very safe and happy holiday season.

Women Wrestlers Should Strive For Greatness

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

At 91 years old, Harriette Thompson has become the oldest woman to complete the Southern California race – her 15th time running it. That made her the second oldest marathon runner in U.S. history.”

Wouldn’t you agree that Ms. Thompson is extraordinary? What about you? Do you see yourself as ordinary, extraordinary or somewhere in between?

Just by being a female wrestler you automatically have placed yourself in the category of being somewhat extraordinary. Why strive to become extraordinary? It’s because that select group will live and enjoy a far more different life than those who are not.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man”.……..Elbert Hubbard

Female Competition International would like to introduce you to Mr. Robert Chen.

Robert Chen is the founder of Embrace Possibility and author of The Dreams to Reality Fieldbook. He helps people who feel stuck move forward by guiding them to see other possibilities for their lives.

He has given permission for those of like and spirit to share his amazing information about how all of us can become extraordinary. To show our appreciation to you as one of our readers, we do the homework and then share it with you.

We all start out in life as being quite ordinary and many remain that way. The few who have become extraordinary have these qualities (no specific order):

  1. Definite Aim, Vision and Purpose– Successful people constantly seek clarity in their lives. They know what they want and they follow their own dream. Vague desires and beliefs lead to vague outcomes. It is this sense of direction that gives them the staying power to stick to their goals and achieve their dreams.
  2. Expertise and Excellence– No matter what they pursue, they become the best in their field. There is no job too small and successful people strive for excellence. They pursue mastery and understand that money is a by-product of the value they offer.
  3. Focused– People who experience success know how to concentrate. They realize that they cannot do everything and they focus on the activities that will give them the highest return on the goals they want to achieve. They don’t believe in the hype of multi-tasking and they know that the fastest way to finish your to-do’s is doing them one at a time.
  4. Positive Attitude and Perseverance – Extraordinary people have realistic optimism. Realistic because they take action and optimistic because no matter what the result may be, they believe their success is inevitable. They believe that like a child learning to walk, they need to take action first and then modify the action according to the feedback that they get. This positive attitude allows them to persevere and be resilient when things don’t go their way.
  5. Flexible– One misconception that ordinary people have about persevering is staying the course no matter what. This is true only if the reason for pursuing your goal is still valid. Most successful people became successful doing something different from what they initially intended to do (i.e. Steve Jobs started with computers, went into the animation and really made his comeback with the iPod). This is normal because the world is always changing and they know a lot more now than when they started. Successful people know that if their reasons for doing what they are doing changes, there is no point to continue.
  6. Masters of Time– Successful people are successful because they get a lot done. The only way to do that is by making the most out of the allotted 24 hours we all get. Extraordinary people value their time and see the direct connection between how they spend their time and their well-being. They are usually always on time and “train” those that deal with them to respect their schedule by implementing strict start and end times for meetings.
  7. Strong Communicators– People who can communicate effectively excel in life. Strong communicators understand that just because people speak English (or the dominant language in your country), it does not mean they understand each other. What makes them effective is that they are clear about and sensitive to the outcome they want to get from their communication and are flexible in their method of communication to achieve their outcome. They are experts at building rapport and separate what is being said from the meaning they put into what is being said.
  8. Brave– We’ve all heard the phrase “No risk. No reward.” but how many of us really take the risk necessary to get the reward we want? Not many but for those who do, they are the ones who make it and become successful. Successful people have the courage to begin AND the courage to continue. They are willing to not only bet but go “all in” on themselves. They are not afraid to burn bridges if it means moving forward.
  9. Givers– Successful people are generous givers. They know and are convinced of the “secret” that the more you give; the more you receive as long as you are genuine about your gifts. They operate on the principle embodied by Zig Ziglar’s quote, “You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.” If you haven’t tapped into this secret, you should get started right away. Money isn’t the only thing you can give. You can give time, expertise, space, etc. Look for ways to open doors for people.
  10. High Self-Esteem– Extraordinary people believe they deserve their success and know that they can do anything they set their mind to. They understand that a mistake is something that they do and not who they are. They also monitor the warning signs of low self-esteem to ensure they always keep a positive self-image of themselves. They realize that self-esteem is a state of mind and choosing to have high self-esteem is much more useful than choosing to have low self-esteem.
  11. Action Oriented– We all know of people who have potential or talk a big game but accomplishes nothing. Those who spend all their time thinking about doing something will never succeed. Successful people are doers and not talkers. They don’t wait for conditions to be perfect before they take action. They just go for it, observe the feedback and then modify their next action accordingly. Those who don’t achieve much with their lives tend to use “would”, “should” and “could” a lot. Those who do get what they want are too busy achieving their next goal to explain themselves. If you suffer from procrastination, I encourage you to check out some practical ways to stop procrastinating.
  12. Confident– This is what helps successful people take action. Like the chicken and the egg, confidence helps you achieve your goals which in turn makes you more confident. A great way to be confident is remembering your past successes and overcoming your fear of failure. Signs of confidence include empowering others, not taking criticism personally, and understanding that the first time you do something is always the hardest and all subsequent times WILL get easier. Success is the combination of confidence with competence.
  13. Readers– Most if not all successful people like to read. If you believe that success leaves clues and that you can be successful by thinking and acting like a success person, then reading should be a part of your daily life. I’ve come to realize that with access to more books than I can read in several lifetimes, it is important to read the books that will make the most difference to you. Usually these are the books that will help you become a true expert in your field of your passion or challenge the limiting beliefs you have about yourself.
  14. Trusts Intuition– People who succeed in life trust their “gut”. They may not be able to explain rationally why or how they made their decision but they knew it was the right thing to do. Successful people learn to harness the power of their subconscious by sending it “orders” from the conscious mind. This involves mentally visualizing the outcome beforehand and then being present to take in the data and information that will become the ingredients for your subconscious to deliver the “orders” that was sent. Learning how to meditate is also a great way to develop and get in touch with your intuition.
  15. Curious and Embraces Possibility– Two people are running a race and they come up to an immense wall blocking their path. One person sees the wall and starts getting down on himself for wasting his time and decides to quit the race before he wastes even more time. The other person immediately thinks about what the possibilities are for getting over the wall. Will he/she climb it, break through it, dig under it, etc? No matter which option he/she chooses, he/she immediately acts on their decision and collects feedback. Successful people adopt an attitude of curiosity and they truly feel that they can always learn something from someone else. They incorporate the great qualities of others while make a point to avoid the bad qualities.
  16. Self-Acceptance– Polonius had it exactly right when he said “To thine own self be true“. People who are successful don’t pretend to be something they are not. This allows them to express their creativity freely and to not worry about hiding who they really are. The best way to accept yourself is to genuinely appreciate and accept others. If you tend to judge other people, you’re probably not very accepting of yourself either. The worse type of rejection is self-rejection.
  17. Big Dreams– I have yet to read a biography of a successful person who didn’t have grand dreams for what they would accomplish. Sir Richard Branson, Walt Disney and Sam Walton all had big dreams and for the most part achieved more than they originally imagined. This is one of the reasons they became successful. They are not afraid to dream big and then go for it. If you want to know whether someone will be successful, ask them about their dreams. If they sound plausible, then they are not dreaming big enough.
  18. Well Rounded and Balanced– Truly successful people strive to be successful in all aspects of their lives. They live healthy lives, become financially independent, nurture meaningful relationships, develop personal mastery and accomplish their professional goals. They know that sacrificing one key area to achieve another will not help them maximize their true potential. It is hard to be your best and to contribute when you have to worry about how you are going to pay the rent.
  19. Excellent Network– Successful people understand the importance of relationships and how it is one of the most important factors in achieving your goals. They also realize that the best way to build a great network is to give help to others first with no expectation of reward. Those who constantly take without giving usually do very poorly on building a solid network.
  20. Enthusiastic– A sure sign of someone extraordinary is the enthusiasm they have about their passion and their life. They wake up in the morning excited about their day because they know it is going to bring them one step closer to achieving their dream. Successful people tend to be leaders because others are attracted to their enthusiasm and become followers hoping to experience the same excitement and energy.
  21. Admits Mistakes– There are two things you can do to guarantee that you will NOT be successful in the future: Blaming Others and Making Excuses. When you do these two things, you give up both your responsibility and power. When something goes wrong and you blame other people or make excuses, you are clearly stating that you have no power in this situation and things are happening to you and not because of you. Great people admit when they are wrong so they can focus on the solution and not waste energy finding a scape goat. Check out what Albert Einstein can teach us about setbacks.
  22. Mindset of Abundance– Successful people don’t view happiness or success as a finite resource where achieving happiness and success for yourself means denying someone else happiness and success. They believe that there is enough to go around and it is more about creating value and not competition. This is the quality that allows them to be happy for other people’s successes. This mindset also encourages empowerment of others. If you think $10,000 is a lot to spend on a hotel room, check out this article by Steve Pavlina.
  23. Good Character– Heroes are people who triumph. Think of all the heroes you know (in movies, books and real life). Don’t they all act with honesty and integrity? Aren’t they usually generous with others and frugal with themselves? Doesn’t everyone look up to them? Being a hero that triumphs in life is no different.
  24. Great Company– As I experience and observe more and more of life, I’ve come to realize that you really can learn a lot about someone by the company that they keep. Test this by looking at people you know and the people they hang out with. You can go as far as to test the idea that a person’s salary is usually the average of the five people they hang out with the most. This happens because people with similar beliefs tend to get along and stick together. If a group averages $65,000/year and someone in the group believes that they can make $65,000/hour, the other people in the group will think that is ridiculous. Yet in the group where everyone makes $65,000/hour, the person making $65,000/year will probably second guess his/her own beliefs concerning earning ability. What does that mean for you? Surround yourself with people living the life you want to live and adopt their beliefs and habits.
  25. Listener– Everyone wants to be a great speaker but how many people strive to be excellent listeners. People who listen succeed in life because they are able to hear and understand the needs of other people and to focus their energy on meeting those needs. The fastest way to be a good conversationalist is to listen well and ask questions.
  26. Self Control– Successful people rarely lose control. They don’t go into panics or blind rages. They have learned to control their emotions and to consciously (or subconsciously) put themselves in a resourceful state. They understand that they can’t change other people or what’s happening to them but they can change how they react to it and how they feel about it. Another sign of self-control is doing what you’re supposed to do despite how you feel about it.
  27. Prepared– Extraordinary people are always prepared. They not only have a plan B but also a Plan C, D, E and F. They mentally rehearse and visualize the possibilities vividly so that when the actual situation occurs, their brains will “remember” what to do.
  28. Choice– People who are successful are in control. They know they ALWAYS have a choice. They don’t feel victimized by their genetics, history and/or circumstances and they truly believe that the past does not determine the future. They write the script to their lives.
  29. Self Reliant– Successful people rely on themselves. They don’t need permission to do what they want and they don’t give other people permission to slow them down by relying on them. They believe in themselves and their ability to achieve their dreams whether anyone helps them or not. What’s interesting is that it is exactly this type of attitude that attracts others to want to help you. Samuel Smiles writes about this exact topic in his book, Self-Help.
  30. Energy Conscious – Those who become great understand that successfully managing their energy is just as important if not more so than managing their time (Quality #6). One of the most important principles in energy management is knowing that rest is as important as action. Successful people are aware that low energy produces poor results and this violates their need for excellence (Quality #2). One of the best ways to manage your energy is to sleep your way to success.

So where do you stand?

fciwomenswrestling.com article, femcompetitor.com photo

I hope you have either reconfirmed many of your own qualities or have created action plans to develop the qualities you are lacking. Focus on cultivating one or two qualities at a time. Once your beliefs and actions are aligned with those of a successful person, you’ll be amazed by how successful you become.

So what should you read? Check out book recommendations from people who are doing what you want to do. Extraordinary people are lifelong learners who view mastery as an asymptote that they keep getting closer to but can never reach.

Sapphire Atlanta Wrestler

Sapphire has the right mental outlook to continue her ascent.

When a Northern California female high school tennis player finished her sophomore and junior varsity campaigns, she possessed won, loss records of 4-10 and 3-11. When one of our associates agreed to coach her before her senior season, they worked together for 10 months, sometimes practicing twice a day for hours at a time in 100 degree weather during the summer.

Once her senior season began she was 1-0, then 3-0, then 5-0, then 8-0 and then 13-0 before she finally lost a match. The most telling statistic was that all matches were won two sets to none. No three set fire fights. She would eventually finish the season with a 16-4 record, lead her high school female varsity team to the playoffs for the first time in school history, battled her way in to the league’s final four championships and was named team MVP.

When asked what plan he used to turn her around, her coach stated, “I used football principles. Double sessions, study film, running and perseverance. You see, no matter what the sport, the principles of life never change.”

When this writer first saw FWA (Female Wrestlers of Atlanta) leader Sapphire wrestle, since she was new, I was certain she was going to lose.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, FWA commons

The setting was beautiful sunny San Diego at the Marriott Hotel which hosted Jackpin’s masterpiece 2008 Women’s Wrestling convention. It didn’t help that she was going up against the ring veteran and dynamic super star named Krissy; the Pennsylvania Princess from Ring Master Girl.

As the two ladies stared at each other in the middle of the ring, I was a little surprised by Sapphire’s confidence as she didn’t blink once. When the match started, I soon began to see why.

Given the styles of both fighters, it turned into a ground war that went back and forth over and over. When it was completed, both hands were raised as it ended in a tie.

I would eventually catch up with Sapphire wondering if she knew what she had just accomplished. She was very young, shapely and down to earth. As we walked, her long dark hair flowed in the soft San Diego breeze like fine silk. Many times she could have tapped out and I asked her why she didn’t and she signed, “I just told myself not to give up.”

Many of the newer girls at that memorable convention no longer wrestle but given Sapphire’s personality, it’s no surprise that she didn’t quit this great sport.

Currently Sapphire is one of the leaders of FWA based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Along with the fem competitor Devon and Jackson they produce a variety of wrestling matches including fully competitive female vs female.

Atlanta is truly one of the great American cities that I’ve always loved to visit, so let’s do that now.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, wikimedia commons

The official site of the city, atlantaga.gov, gushes with enthusiasm, “It’s an exciting time in the City of Atlanta. Every year, companies are voting with their feet and choosing Atlanta as the destination to expand their campuses and build their headquarters. Over the past four years, companies have discovered what makes Atlanta a thriving, vibrant, and international city. Atlanta remains home to the world’s busiest passenger airport, and we are the leader in global and domestic air transportation.”

The sound information source Wikipedia explains, “Atlanta is the capital of and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Georgia, with an estimated 2013 population of 447,841. Atlanta is the cultural and economic center of the Atlanta metropolitan area, home to 5,522,942 people and the ninth largest metropolitan area in the United States. Atlanta is the county seat of Fulton County, and a small portion of the city extends eastward into DeKalb County.

Atlanta is the primary transportation hub of the Southeastern United States, via highway, railroad, and air, with Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport being the world’s busiest airport since 1998.

fciwomenswrestling.com article, wikimedia commons

Atlanta is considered an “alpha-” or “world city”, ranking 15th among world cities and sixth in the nation with a gross domestic product of $270 billion. Although Atlanta’s economy is considered diverse, dominant sectors include logistics, professional and business services, media operations, and information technology. Topographically, Atlanta is marked by rolling hills and dense tree coverage. Revitalization of Atlanta’s neighborhoods, initially spurred by the 1996 Olympics, has intensified in the 21st century, altering the city’s demographics, politics, and culture.

Encompassing $304 billion, the Atlanta metropolitan area is the eighth-largest economy in the country and 17th-largest in the world.

Corporate operations comprise a large portion of the Atlanta’s economy, with the city serving as the regional, national, or global headquarters for many corporations. Atlanta contains the country’s third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, and the city is the global headquarters of corporations such as The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Delta Air Lines, AT&T Mobility, UPS, and Newell-Rubbermaid. Over 75 percent of Fortune 1000 companies conduct business operations in the Atlanta metropolitan area, and the region hosts offices of about 1,250 multinational corporations.

Many corporations are drawn to Atlanta on account of the city’s educated workforce; as of 2010, nearly 43% of adults in the city of Atlanta have college degrees, compared to 27% in the nation as a whole.”

Thank you Wikipedia. Atlanta is powerful, beautiful and smart too.

Hey, that describes Sapphire as well!

I’ve watch a few of Sapphires matches and she is definitely fond of the ground struggles. Having said that, she is very competent at mixing it up in the boxing ring as she did with Krissy in San Diego.

Female Competition International (FCI) is very happy that Sapphire made a decision to stay in the game and turn wrestling into a long term project.

One of the great football coaches Vince Lombardi was quoted as saying, “Football is like life – it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.

This principle applied to female tennis and certainly applies to women’s wrestling too. The principles of life are universal.

If Sapphire continues to take on all competitors, partner with a team of dynamic female wrestlers and persevere, like her experience in San Diego, many more exciting women’s wrestling events will have her on the marquee and her wrestling future will continue to be as bright and prosperous as a busy Atlanta summer sun.

Bori Wrestler Hungary

Former DWW-HWW female wrestling star Bori is the master at exercising patience.

One of the Founding Fathers of The United States, Benjamin Franklin was once quoted as saying, “He that can have patience can have what he will.”

That of course can apply to a “she” as well.

A former DWW star and grappling veteran, Bori is very adept at a long term ground war where she slowly imposes her will on her opponents until the only option left is to submit. On the mats, Bori has mastered the art of patience.

fciwomenswrestling.com article - DWW photo

Patience goes by many definitions. It can be conceived as the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. The source dictionary.reference.com extends the understanding by stating that patience is an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay.

Researching and pinning down Bori’s wrestling career is an exercise in patience. Why? It seems she has called herself Gina when wrestling at Flamingo is South Florida, Orsi K. when competing at DWW and at Femwin’s Budapest venture and a Portuguese company called APL, she goes by Bori.

Got that?

What I’ve enjoyed about watching Bori over the years is that even when first starting out, there was an aura of maturity to her approach. Typical of most European girls in general and DWW ladies in particular, they are not trash talkers.

They let their wrestling do the talking.

When Bori competed in America as Gina, she came in at a heavier and in my opinion sexier weight. Over time she has slimmed down and seems to take a more stealth approach to her grappling. With her consistent olive skin and regal demeanor, she will always be a classic beauty.

As she has evolved, she seems to enjoy being a mentor to other young female wrestlers at the Budapest location and in many of their matches; Bori can be heard in the background providing them with instruction.

According to her profile Bori loves something else artistic as well. She writes novels.

Let’s briefly peer into Hungarian culture and gaze at a novel that generated high praise and that’s Magda Szabo’s quiet jewel, “The Door.” The book review site theculturetrip.com shares, “A young writer, struggling for success, employs an elderly woman called Emerence to be her housekeeper. From their first encounter it is clear that Emerence is no ordinary maid. This work evokes the development of the bond between these two very different women, and the tragic ending to their relationship.”

It sounds enticing doesn’t it?

I would love to read the titles that Bori has penned to help influence and possibly change the world.

My passion is film and Hungary excels there as well.

During one of my vacation movie marathons I came across a slow mesmerizing cinematic incision entitled, “Kontrol.” The global giant film vault Netflix.com provides the description, “In the dismal world of the Budapest subway system, ticket inspector Bulcsú (Sándor Csányi) and his crew cope with everything from freeloaders to a hooded killer, while reaffirming their ability to survive each day by engaging in competitions with other crews. First-time director Nimród Antal helms this Hungarian box office smash hit and winner of the Prix de la Jeunes award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.”

For this writer, there was a far more penetrating, underlying message.

Yes it was a fascinating psychological thriller about the race against time to capture a serial killer but what captivated me more was the location. Virtually all of the scenes were shot in the subway. It was void of sunlight and enlightenment from the world upstairs. You could literally see his surroundings wearing down the hero yet he was powerless to escape until his weary legs finally led him to a different future.

I related so well because at the time, in an office with no windows, I was stuck in a solid but dismal dead end job that paid the bills and provided for my family and though I thought about it every single day, I just couldn’t escape until it was too late. My wife and I we’re vacationing in San Francisco and as I walked past 5 star hotels and skyscrapers that pierced the azure ceiling, I could feel it.

I sighed to myself that I finally escaped that dark place for good.

The world awaits Bori’s masterpiece.

Let’s briefly travel to Budapest.

The great information source Wikipedia educates us well. “Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary, and one of the largest cities in the European Union. It is the country’s principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation center, sometimes described as the primate city of Hungary.

In 2011, according to the census, Budapest had 1.74 million inhabitants, down from its 1989 peak of 2.1 million due to suburbanization. The Budapest Metropolitan Area is home to 3.3 million people. The city covers an area of 525 square kilometers (202.7 sq. mi) within the city limits.

Cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, its extensive World Heritage Site includes the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrássy Avenue, Heroes’ Square and the Millennium Underground Railway, the second-oldest metro line in the world.

It has 80 geothermal springs, the world’s largest thermal water cave system, the second largest synagogue, and third largest Parliament building. The city attracts about 4.3 million tourists a year, making it the 25th most popular city in the world to visit (and the 6th in Europe) according to Euromonitor.

Considered a financial hub in Central Europe, the city ranked 3rd (out of 65 cities) on MasterCard’s Emerging Markets Index, and ranked as the most liveable Central and Eastern European city on EIU‘s quality of life index. It is also ranked as “the world’s second best city” by Condé Nast Traveler, “Europe’s 7th most idyllic place to live” by Forbes, and as the 9th most beautiful city in the world by UCityGuides. It is the highest ranked Central/Eastern European city on Innovation Cities’ Top 100 index.”

It’s easy to escape inside Bori’s matches.

Her ground struggles tend to be erotic. Mostly Bori comes out on top as the New Yorker Trinity found out the hard way during one of the more feisty matches I have ever viewed. Bori’s patience was sorely tested that day. With the restrictions placed upon Trinity’s BJJ skills, temper’s boiled as Trinity was tested in her efforts to hold back.

It was the only time I saw Bori get a little, well……..impatient.

Bori continues to be great for the female submission wrestling industry. If we had paid coaches like other sports, she would be an exceptional one.

In her role as a mentor and instructor, Bori seems to have found her niche. Her wrestling is a joy forever and her patience is a great virtue.
