Doommaidens Aralia Vs British Wrestlers, Global Excitement

Main Article / January 26, 2019

Premium competitive female submission wrestling matches are often contested in Global Cites.

What defines a city as global?

It is a term that is expressed often in tourist oriented articles, brochures and visitors bureaus.

We understand their slant.

They desire to attract people from all over the world to their region so to describe their city as one that is International in content and scope is understandable. While this provides additional color and flair, it may or may not be true that it actually qualifies to be one.

Global. International. What qualifies may be in the eye of the beholder.

The Chicago Council On Global Affairs at provides us with some clarity on what designates a city as global.

What is their purpose? “The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization that provides insight – and influences the public discourse – on critical global issues. We convene leading global voices, conduct independent research, and engage the public to explore ideas that will shape our global future. The Council on Global Affairs is committed to bringing clarity and offering solutions to issues that transcend borders and transform how people, business, and governments engage the world.”

Global cities drive the global economy. Some like London, Tokyo and New York command several sectors. Others such as Los Angeles, Brussels and Frankfurt primarily dominate only one.

Yes they are large, and while size alone is not the determining factor, cities under one million in population need not apply. Too, some of the world’s largest cities, depending upon their economics, political stability and educational systems may never become global cities.

Global cities are magnets for the best and brightest from around the world, including their own nations’ young people. In fact they tend to provide great educations for young people with masterful universities.

Here is an additional view.

A global city, also called world city or sometimes alpha city or world center, is a city which is a primary node in the global economic network. The concept comes from geography and urban studies, and the idea that globalization is created, facilitated, and enacted in strategic geographic locales according to a hierarchy of importance to the operation of the global system of finance and trade.

The term “global city”, rather than “megacity“, was popularized by sociologist Saskia Sassen in her 1991 work, The Global City: New York, London, Tokyo.

Although criteria are variable and fluid, typical characteristics of world cities are:

  • A variety of international financial services, notably in finance, insurance, real estate, banking, accountancy, and marketing
  • Headquarters of several multinational corporations
  • The existence of financial headquarters, a stock exchange, and major financial institutions
  • Domination of the trade and economy of a large surrounding area
  • Major manufacturing centers with port and container facilities
  • Considerable decision-making power on a daily basis and at a global level
  • Centers of new ideas and innovation in business, economics, culture, and politics
  • Centers of media and communications for global networks
  • Dominance of the national region with great international significance
  • High percentage of residents employed in the services sector and information sector
  • High-quality educational institutions, including renowned universities, international student attendance, and research facilities
  • Multi-functional infrastructure offering some of the best legal, medical, and entertainment facilities in the country
  • High diversity in language, culture, religion, and ideologies.

Defining what makes a city global in our competitive female submission wrestling industry is a little simpler.

While International tournament competitions have occurred around the globe starting with DWW in the 1990s, Southern California in the early 2000’s with the Jackpin Conventions and the great Femwrestle events that took center stage in Troisdorf, Germany, in contrast to all, the most enduring city for International competition is the global designated city of London.

It started in the very early 1990s with TPC who were well known for their International matches and continues today, primarily with the Submission Room.,, TPC photo credit

The American Aralia is a regular fighter at Doommaidens in New York City and has made the trek across the Atlantic to match up with some of the warriors from England.

Our friends at Fempcompetitor Magazine wrote an article about one of her British opponents in Jade.

Jade UK vs Alkaia Czech Republic, Event Wresting, Instant Classic

We first began purchasing Aralia’s matches almost two years ago and have seen immense improvement in her wrestling since she was a newbie. She clearly has the ability to defeat newer wrestlers now.

While she has an extensive match resume with easily over 40 matches, most of them have been of the fantasy variety. Recently she has involved herself in more competitive matches as she did at Female Wrestling Zone and here at the Submission Room.

In their battle in London, Jade, with her extensive experience, should be the front runner. Here is the match description.

F499 – Aralia vs Jade

When guest wrestler Aralia took on Kali earlier in the London Submission Room live event, she amazed the crowd with just how strong and feisty she was. But how will she fare against Jade?  Looking hot in a blue bikini, Jade is well known for being a very tough wrestler and she hates losing. Aralia shows just how resilient she can be as she stubbornly refuses to tap out to some of Jade’s submission holds and is saved by the bell on one occasion.

This 15 minute match is fought over three 5-minute rounds.

Aralia was ever ready from the moment she arrived. Here is the description of a previous match.

F496 – Kali vs Aralia

Here is match #3 from the London Submission Room’s live event held on 9th December 2018 and it’s a fantastic match featuring guest wrestler Aralia from New York, against Kali from the Submission Room.  As anyone who has wrestled Kali will know, she is extremely strong for her size and has many years of wrestling experience behind her.

She is flexible and wiry and she has won many times against much larger opponents.  But as Kali finds out in the first round, Aralia may just be as wiry and strong as she is, and Aralia has an intensity when she wrestles that is rare to see.

These two feisty wrestlers deliver a passionate, crowd-pleasing match over three 5-minute rounds.

Well said.

International matches are thrilling because they break the pattern of the company fights which are often based upon fiscal and prudent economics. Given our past of working with producers we understand that well. Paying for International fighters adds dramatically to the costs with no guarantee of higher sales in return.

Aralia took the risk and traveled to fight strangers. Good for her. Good for us. It will help her grow as a Fem Competitor.,, Aralia Social Media photo credit

The Submission Room is a great company, one of the best in our industry.

The London based company is one with global attraction.

It is fitting it is located in the global city of London, one of the most historic and exciting cities in the world.
