Do happier people live longer? Are people who laugh healthier?

At her From The Heart column, found at Psychology Today, Cynthia M. Thaik M.D. stated, “A vast scientific literature has detailed how negative emotions harm the body. Serious, sustained stress, anger, and fear can alter biological systems in a way that over time adds up to “wear and tear”—and, eventually, illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Research shows that laughter does indeed improve our health and well-being. If you can laugh when you are stressed, anxious, worried, and even if you are ill, you can feel better sooner.”

It’s a good thing for Forhaus restaurant in the scenic Czech Republic city of Brno.

“Along with our slogan “eat well – often laugh – live long” we are opening to you with a restaurant, that will enrich your lives of good food and contentment, to make you feel good and so that you could experience our slogan together with us.

The current century is a time of great technical possibilities and pressures to accelerate processes, but it is also a time when we feel the need to slow down and begin to look back to our roots and traditions to draw from them.

Along with our slogan „eat well – often laugh – live long” we are opening to you with a restaurant, that will enrich your lives of good food and contentment, to make you feel good and so that you could experience our slogan together with us.

The current century is a time of great technical possibilities and pressures to accelerate processes, but it is also a time when we feel the need to slow down and begin to look back to our roots and traditions to draw from them. The period of the Austro- Hungarian Empire is such a symbol for us to stop on our way back in times. Mainly due to its interconnection of many states, nations and cultures which form a mixture of our roots and traditions. Thanks to this heritage we are looking forward to creating a diverse and wide range of dishes, which have already become just memories or those that are popular among our countrymen, and that influenced or diversified our Czech cuisine.

However, it is necessary to say that we don´t end with the inspiration of choice of the dishes because another thing that attracts and fascinates us about the old times in contrast with present times, is the honesty of their approach to work and use of high-quality ingredients. So you can expect from us traditional dishes inspired by the Austro- Hungarian Empire period, moreover with the guarantee of honest approach to work.

What can you expect from us? Honesty. Fresh and high-quality ingredients. Home-made production. Use of innovative technologies. Various dishes respecting the principles of seasonal availability. Modern gastronomy which satisfies all your senses.

We look forward to meeting you and to our common journey back in time to the traditions, but in the premises and facilities with modern time’s technologies, which we have prepared with great enthusiasm.”

Love their spirit. Don’t you? Others do as well. Let’s peek in on some reviews at Trip Advisor.

  1. English menu, good service. The decor is modern, clean and well maintained. They have a lunch menu from 12 till 2 and regular menu the whole day and evening. They also have daily specials. The wine pairing was so so, but the wine itself was very good (tried the local wine).
  2. We went to this restaurant on a recommendation of friends. The interior has great decoration, clean lines, expensive finishes, and very sophisticated. This is a restaurant that takes its inspiration from the Austrio-Hungarian Empire. My husband had the duck entree and said it was excellent. I had the tenderloin in soup with sides of purée spinach and potatoes.
  3. We were gone for a month in Eastern Europe, and this was truly one of our best meals. My husband had steak and I had risotto. Both of us were extremely pleased with our meals. We also had bread to dip in olive oil which was very tasty. Our service was good, too.

Sounds like a wonderful time and there is only one thing that would put the icing on that fine dining cake.

VeVe and Diana talk about differences between their disciplines in the interviews before and after the match. In the closing interview the opponents analyze the various holds and remark on different moments of the match, as well as talk about how their background affected the match, and ultimately, the outcome.
